Any good Marvel out there?

I read Cable and Thor. It's the only Marvel stuff I've been able to bare. I'd prefer something that won't tie into this Secret Invasion BS.

Nova, Captain America, Iron Man: Director of SHEILD, The Immortal Iron Fist, Avengers: The Initiative, Incredible Hercules and Daredevil are Marvel's best.

The cosmic stories have been really good so far, and it's all leading to Guardians of the Galaxy, which looks really fun. Along those lines, Nova has been really good.

Captain America, Nova, Incredible Hercules, and Immortal Iron Fist are the best of the best that Marvel offers.

Nova and Incredible Hercules are both having Secret Invasion tie-ins, but they sound like a lot of fun and they're far removed from the stuff that the main event is about, and I doubt you'll have to worry about any controversy over someone randomly being revealed as a Skrull. The Skrulls attacking Earth decide that Nova, having recently gained the power of the entire Nova Force, is too much of a risk, so they send agents out to kill him. In Incredible Herc, Hercules gathers up a bunch of Earth's gods and leads them into battle against the Skrulls' gods and the enslaved gods of the races the Skrulls have conquered.

Herc's story sounds too far fetched. What other races have the Skrulls conquered? They don't have an Empire anymore! Still, Skrull Gods...hmm...cool idea.

I really like the ideas they came up with for the Skrull gods, too. Apparently, they have just two gods of their own: one is considered male and has no "true" form because he embodies the shapeshifting aspect of the Skrull race, the other is considered female and has one Skrull-like form to represent the Skrulls' sense of racial identity.

And are they neccesarily bad guys? Cause if they are...then...I dunno. It deflats the thrill for me a little. But the two Gods thing reminds me of Ork gods Gork and Mork, Gork hits you when you're looking, Mork hits you when you're not.

Pak and Van Lente. I don't know if the Skrull gods are necessarily evil, but they'll likely be antagonistic, since they're fighting on behalf of their worshipers, who are trying to conquer Earth. If it's any consolation, Herc's own team features some morally ambiguous characters--Amatsu Mikaboshi killed Zeus and Demagorge eats other gods.
