Anybody work in the entertainment biz?

i had a knife fight with the donny most from happy days once. he ain't pretty no more.

I am a filmmaker, but I haven't done anything that's hit big yet...I've done a few shorts that play at local film festivals. I pay the bills by making education videos for the GEAR UP program and also do some web workon the side. The most famous people I know aren't really famous, they are people who have been miscellaneous crew on various movies, but to film geeks such as my self they are pretty famous. I've done some PA and extra work, but nothing too steady. I tried to get a job as a production assistant on the set of The Shadow...not a fan of the book myself, but I would have been able to work with Frank Miller. That would have rocked, but sadly, it fell through.

The only celebrity I've ever met in Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. I was in the same elevator as him in the Orlando airport when my wife and I were coming back from our honeymoon. He said the "NO SOUP FOR YOU!" line and gave me an autograph. Best 30 seconds ever.

how do you know he wasn't actually one of saddam hussein's many look-alikes?

thanks. that'll be tough to look up with the huge crowd and the fact that i have no idea what dew looks like.

That would have been great if it would have worked out. I also enjoy meeting crew people that have worked on various productions. It's great to swap stories with them and it's great to hear how some scenes were shot.

Yea film is a whole different beast. I've done a couple shoots for John Deere(yea I live in Iowa) for infomercials and commercials and it is just numbingly boring. For a 30 second tv spot we shot for over 8 hours and that's not counting the editing process! I do alot of sporting events and i just love the fast pace of it all. Set up can sometimes suck but once the event starts it's over before you know it! Good luck with getting in the theatre and keep us updated!

Stop by the musical theatre thread. I give updates all the time. And rant and rave and ask opinions on audition choices, too.

cool. love the headdress. "your belief system fascinates me".... sorry, old seinfeld joke. yay for dew!

spiderman should have saved you instead of mary jane :cmad: :down
