Superman Returns Anyone catch Routh in NYC this morning?

I am so pissed i totally forget he was going to be at Rockefeller center in NYC this morning for the today show, with a hugh superman S behind him, damn it! #$#%#$^%$& Now hes not going to be on the city til the 27th (regis and kelly) atleast with the today show u can probably get an autograph since its outside, regis and kelly is indoors and you need tix.

I saw it when I was leaving for work..matt lauer asked him did he actually look at reviews of him and he said yes....and matt mention the critically postive reviews and how he felt about it and he was overwhelmed and happy....he sounds like a well rounded person that great person...Much like christ reeve

meh i've been in and our of the city too much this week (live in nj about 20 minutes away) looking for spiderman and missing him 3 x (the filming). I think the today show is like 7am or something so that would mean i would be going into the city at rush hour and probably miss it anyway unless i left at 4am lol, which it would probably still be worse. Oh well they should have had the damn premiere in the city since it is based off of metropolis.

Personally, I could care less about meeting him. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way. I want to see Superman Returns - not Brandon Routh.

I'd like to meet him, because he seems like a geniunely cool dude and also to get advice as a fellow actor. I mean, he lucked out BIG time landing this role... it's kind of one of those "one in a million" chances, but still, he could probably give some insight on how to break into movies and TV despite being an unknown. At the very least, it'd be cool just to say, "I met Superman."

Of course people flock to famous people. It makes themselves feel a little bit more famous as they're congregating with someone that perhaps millions or more have seen or know.

Yep, no doubt. I just find that phenomenon a little baffling. That's not to say that I've not had moments where I wanted to meet someone famous, but I've never really idolized anyone the way I've seen others do it. Famous people are still just people like the rest of us. Very LUCKY people, but ordinary people just the same.

I understand, but I don't think anyone is idolizing Routh here. I'm not really one to be starstruck, but it'd be cool to meet Routh, get an autograph, talk a little with him.

And I dunno about a lot of famous people being ordinary. People like Lindsay Lohan and others live in their own world where they are kings/queens and everyone else are mere pawns. They take self-centered/obsessed to a whole other level and doubtful they could survive without their multitudes of assistants and managers to hold their hand for them.

Now people like Routh seem to be like the rest of us. That probably adds to why people around here want to meet him so much.

i for one do not idolize routh, perhaps superman, because he was a part of my childhood and something i will always cherish and remember, and this is the NEW man of steel so it kind of goes hand in hand.
