Anyone else agree that Dr. Cox is one of the funniest characters in the TV history?

To Dr. Kelso: "They hate you, they hate you, DEAR GOD THEY HATE YOU. From the bottoms of your hooves to the top of your pitchfork."

It's from an early episode.

Almost peed my pants on this one.

"Well either thats a light bulb up his ass or his colon has a great idea."

Ok im going to take the other side on this one. I find the character utterly boring. It was funny in the first episode and then i tolerated it after that, now i cant stand it. Six years of the same thing every bloody week. I get it, u dont like people and ur permanetly pissed off. It was old when it was new. Admittidly i dont like scrubs much so i may be biased but everytime he comes on the screen its like, ok here we go, get ready for a longwhinded rant that goes nowhere. And no way does he deserve any nomination for the role. How much ability does it take to play angry all the time. I know he has softer moments but even those are filled with sarcasm and a 'i know everything attitude and i was right all along' tone to it. Sorry for going on, its been building up for some time. I mean really, what does he really have to complain about in his life anyway? Great job, wife, kids friends. Get over yourself.

Well he's funny and creative with his insults...so that kind of covers that...It's J.D who I got bored with actually. He went from quirky to just flat out weird and sometimes whiney and annoying.

You're just seeing the surface of the character though, Dr. Cox really cares about his job and doing the very best job he possibly can. The sarcasm is his tough love approach to teaching and his disapproval of the financial aspect of medicine. Underneath every rant is him trying to make JD and/or Elliott a better doctor.

As for him not deserving a nomination, watch the episode where Brendan Fraser's character dies or the two episodes from last year where the three patients die and he falls apart, those are easily worth a nomination and a win.
