I like kids , but I don't want any. Ever since I watched this doc about how everything you do will affect your kids , grandkids , great grandkids , etc in my Physical Anthro class I've been thinking. Both sides of my family have hereditary diseases and I've put a lot of stupid s*** in my body. I'd rather not pass that on.

I was adopted into a family with a very abusive mother, that regretted adopting me, and she blamed me for being part of the family. When I had no choice in the matter.

I'm sorry to read that man, welcome to the boards btw.
That can happen in circumstances with biological parents too, I had a friend who told me his mum told him she wished he was never born, and it totally got to him of course, his parents were terrible, an example, one time after school he and i took a go of his mum's excercise bike, and his dad walked in from work and punched him off it, 'cause he wasn't allowed on it.

Bad parents are bad parents, your mum shouldn't have said that to you, just try not to let it get to you nowadays. I think all that stuff got to my childhood friend, and he went a bit crazy, all sorts of trouble. I ran into him recently, and he still has a lot of problems, but has calmed somewhat(well as opposed to being completely crazy), and i put that down to his parents and the way he was brought up. They were rascist, so he still has a lot of racism in him, it's a real shame because he had a real good mind with a lot of potential, natural smarts.

and as for kids, just like people, good and bad, and it's to do with the upbringing most of the time.

That's the thing. Part of me wants to have kids, I just dont want to raise them. Being a sperm donar actually sounds pretty good.

hahahaha, I wasn't even thinking about that. Though now that you mentioned it, sounds kinda cool.

What I was getting at was that I have no problem hanging out with kids, coaching, mentoring, etc. but I don't want to raise children.

My biggest fears about having kids are that it'd be a disabled mental or grow up to be a knobhead.

I also don't think I'd make a good father so it would be terribly unfair on the kid.

I you're of an adult age right now, and are using terms like 'disabled mental' in ref to kids who are disabled, yeah, it's probably a good idea you don't have any.
edit: Even a kid should know better than to use terms like that. When i was a kid this guy who ran the local football training had a disabled kid, and one time he chased me for ages wanting to knock the crap out of me because he thought i made a crack about his disabled kid, I didn't, what I'd done was said he had a face like a Babboon's ass(cause he was holding one of my pals of the time up against a wall).
You should be careful what you say.

I remember as a kid saying that I would probably adopt a kid as an adult. Then I thought some more and said maybe adopt a teenager. Then I thought maybe a 20 year old but then realized that they would be too old to adopt by then.

I'd like to adopt an asian kid who is trained well in a martial art, so I can have him by my side incase he needs to defend my honor.

Me: Hey, this guy is making fun of me on Xbox live, he says I'm ''pwnd'' and a ''Noob'....I want you to kill Kill him.

Agreed!

I don't want kids because I don't like them and even as an adult I'm not mature enough and I'm too selfish to raise children.
I would not make a good parent
