Apparently the term "black hole" is racist.....

Somebody never went to science class. I think most black people would look at that and even say that's stupid.

The guy tripping over the black hole analogy obviously had a chip on his shoulder.

Don't put all of us black folks in the same box I think this guy is a bone head also and he obviously did not pay attention in Astro-Physics 101

A black hole is a region of space in which the gravitational field is so powerful that nothing, not even light, can escape its pull after having fallen past its event horizon. The term "Black Hole" comes from the fact that, at a certain point, even electromagnetic radiation (e.g. visible light) is unable to break away from the attraction of these massive objects. This renders the hole's interior invisible or, rather, black like the appearance of space itself.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

It's an African-American Hole :o

BTW, from Wikipedia:
In astrophysics, a white hole is the theoretical time reversal of a black hole. While a black hole acts as a vacuum, sucking up any matter that crosses the event horizon, a white hole acts as a source that ejects matter from its event horizon.

People are always complaining about having to be "PC".

I agree sometimes things go to far but there is nothing wrong with NOT saying things that are cruel or insensitive to ANY individual.

It shoud not be okay to call a black person a N*****

It should not be okay to call a hispanic person a S**C or a w*t-b*ck

It shouls not be okay to call a white person a H****y or Cr***r

It is wrong to hang nooses on the doors of black frat houses

Our rights end where other peoples begin.

The guy throwing a fit over the black hole statement is un-reasonable.

But throwing a fit over a County supervisor calling a predominantly black district in my county a collection of porch-monkeys is not un-reasonable.

using the term 'rediculous' is racist to Native Americans.

What do... they... want to be called? If they can't be called black... I don't want to be called white either.

What are you getting at? Please clarify.

The term African-American is ignorant. It's assuming every black person descendant's come from Africa and they're American.

If black people can't be called black, why is it ok for white people to be called white? That's what he's getting at.

I see your point. The term African American came about in the 1970s as a response to being called colored or negro. Now black is more commonly used and African American just kind of stuck.

My family has been in this country since the late 1700s

you don't need to assume every African American is American, that's fact. Black people who are not American are not called African Americans.

There is nothing wrong in my view being called black or even black American.

That whole black hole thing that is the catalyst for this thread is an example of one individual [in the article] being overly sensitive.

And the vast majority of black people in this country don't mind being called black.

On an unrelated topic I watched a porn film called Black Hole
Er.............Thanks for sharing I guess!

I know right, but you know how it is to some people. One Black person talks for the entire race and his opinion represents all blacks :whatever:

Seems that way sometimes doesn't it?

Charlize Theron is African American.

Now you guys are honestly acting a tad racist for assuming this one moronic black dude reps all the rest of us. Come on now. The black people you know(you do have some black friends, right? :p) surely are not that dumb.

Terry your on point:applaud

Why is it that the worst examples are assigned to most of us?

If we said that most white people hold the same views as the KKK we would be jumped on with both feet.

If you thought Song of the South was racist, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

The worst thing is he compares Devil's food cake to racism...
This guy is a dunce. It reminds me of middle school when I'd say "I like vanilla ice cream" and some ****** would respond "What you got against chocolate, huh? what you got against chocolate!?!"
