Guardians of the Galaxy Are most Batman fans Guardians of the Galaxy fans?

Hi all, saw the film last night and loved it! Never read the comics (I mostly read Batman and Superman comics) but I think I'm going to check them out. Any recommendations?

Anyway, when I was in line I was amazed that at least 30% of the audience had a Batman shirt on. This didn't bother me but I wondered, are most Batman fans Guardians of the Galaxy fans? Keep in mind, I'm a huge Batman fanatic and I was quite impressed by this movie (hands down the best movie of the year), so I can see why they would love it so much and what the hype was about.

Batman is a pop culture phenonomen. Most people who see themselves as comic book fans, probably like Batman too.

I am a Batman fan, my brother is a Batman fan. We both love GotG. I think the theory is sound.

Not necessarily, you see it on here all the time, people that like movies and could give a crap where the source of it comes from. You also have plenty of people that wear Batman t's in the same way people wear classic rock t's, because it looks cool.

Maybe it has something to do with Batman being the most popular comic in all of history which equates to there being more Batman fans. No different than going to a Bruce Springsteen show and seeing fans with Rolling Stones shirts. They still like other comics as well.

I'm in that camp. Batman will always be my favorite as far as the comic book heroes goes, but that also doesn't exclude me from loving everything Marvel is doing right now.

I, personally, don't understand the elitist must love one or another camp. Can't we all just appreciate that movies like this are being made and, better yet, being enjoyed by the general public as well?

What you said. This is the best era to be alive as a comic fan! We get to see all the characters come to life. Some are just how we interpreted them and others give us huge surprises like Gotg. As fans we should leave the quarreling to DC and Marvel. I'll just sit back ad enjoy!!

Most Batman fans are not Guardians of the Galaxy fans since most Batman fans hadn't heard of Guardians until recently. However, I do suspect that most Guardians of the Galaxy fans are also Batman fans because, honestly, who doesn't like Batman?

Im a die hard Batman fan, but my favorite character in Marvel is Silver Surfer...I think the Cosmic stories in Marvel are unique and it is a separate type of story from the earth stories of superheroes...I honestly, loved Guardians because it was alot of fun and reminded me of Star Wars (superhero version)

Batman has been the most popular most ubiquitous sh for a very very long time. Almost everyone has enjoyed some iteration of the character, be it comics, live or animated tv shows, or movies.

Almost all Marvel fans are to one degree or another Bats fans. I can say that without conducting a poll. (Not that I'm against doing a poll here. It could be fun to guess the %. I would expect 90+ . No?)

Batman is my main hero of course, and I am an avid fanatic, I don't need to get into the details of that.

But Guardians is without a doubt the best Marvel Studios film to date for me, I'm not a huge fan of all the previous films they have released (bar The Winter Soldier which was quite good, not without its faults and the first Iron Man), but this balanced everything so tremendously. It reminded me of Star Wars which is a film saga I have adored since I was a child, much like Batman. Of course I can't say I have read any Guardians comics (nor many Marvel comics at all, just not the biggest Marvel fan except for X-Men, I've always loved X-Men) but I can safely say the Guardians have a new fan
