I want a sci fi or fantasy book with the feel of cartoons and comics. Just fun and fast moving adventure. Any ideas welcome thanks.

The discworld books are good. The best description I could come up with when describing them to my friend is sarcastic fantasy. I really don't like fantasy myself but I love the discworld books. I've read the first five or so (I'm on a time out while I read other books for a bit) but Death has some of the best lines in the series. Like when he's encouraging someone to die to a pack of ravening wolves.

"C'mon, it won't hurt a bit."
"Getting torn to pieces by wolves won't hurt a bit???"
"Well it won't hurt for long anyway."

R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt books have been said to have that sort of feel. If you like lots of combat to move the plot along, you'd like those.

Robert Asprin also writes books with that sort of feel. Phule's Company, Myth Inc. and so forth.
