I ask this because it's a topic that I think about a lot. Guys these days seem to be wimps for the most part. I know so many guys that are about 25-27 and they still live with their mommy. (No offense, JAL). Now when I was around 11-17 I was a pretty nerdy kid.

But at some point during that period I started to look at myself, and I realized that I was a *****. Now I've been working hard for the past 3 years to de-*****fy myself. Honestly, look around. There are so many men stuck behind desks in stuffy cubicles going nowhere. Being coddled by their mothers or being castrated by their wives.

Now, obviously there is no shame in supporting a family or being a naturally intelligent person. I'm no manly man as of right now. (I spend way too much time here for example)

So the question for the guys is:
Isn't there a part of you that wants to run into the ****ing mountains, chop down some trees, build a cabin and hunt deer for the rest of your days?

Because I'm pretty disappointed in the behavior of my generation of males.
People are going to look back at us in 1000 years. They're going to wonder what the hell happened to men.

(maybe I'm just being a silly goose, though)

i just spent $300.00 at the strip club and and i only nutted once. **** everytime i go to the strip club i feel ripped off, but the smell of vagina on my face makes me not regret it

what does being a 25-27 yr old who lives with his has to do with masculinity. if he wanst to live, he can. unless he has wife or something.

the only thing im ashamed of is me bieng 21 and have'nt had a job nor do i have my license yet.:(

A real man would take charge and stop freeloading.
Except for extreme circumstances.

You're a boy until you leave the nest.

I live with my parents. But I give them like 450-550 dollars a month.. and I pay my own bills.. insurance, gas, food etc...

LOL! No, I don't want to do any of that. I satiate my aggressive side at the gym. None of that stuff makes one "manly". Taking care of one's responsibilities makes one manly. The rest is just personal taste.

Chopping down trees makes one extremely manly

EEhhhh. Women can chop down trees too.

Have you ever seen a woman who didn't look like Rosie O'Donnel chop down a tree?

It sounds like you're (heh I caught the "your" and replaced it with "you're"- I'm getting gooder a grammar) letting society tell you what is masculine.

If you have to try to be masculine, then you aren't masculine. At best you will be "Joe Surbubanite" asking for help building your outdoor kitchen at the Home Depot.

I've seen some pretty hot women who liked to do all that country stuff. I've also seen some guys hunt/fish/chop wood etc..that couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

With the tree chopping down thing, I'm kidding btw.

However I'm not letting society tell me what is masculine. I know what is. And a lot of the things I see as of late have been sort of bothering me. Not in a threatening way, but more in a "society seems to be watering everybody down" way.

"Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it"

That should be the motto for every man.

As to what other men do, I don't give a ****. I spend more time thinking if it's better to drink my beer from the bottle or pour it into a cold mug.

"Masculine" is really in the eye of the beholder. However, being from the South, I know plenty of guys who like the whole "back to nature" thing so I get what you are saying.

Du Haust
It was Rammstein, Mann Gegen Mann.

I just had to post something mocking masculinity

They both mock masculinity, so it's all good.

I'm too busy drinking a beer to complain
