What started in HOUSE OF M with the Decimation of mutantkind and erupted with the first new mutant birth in MESSIAH COMPLEX finishes here. In the epic crossover SECOND COMING, Cyclops’ faith pays off when Cable returns to the present with Hope, the girl he believes to be the mutant messiah. But will she be the savior or destroyer of mutantkind? We may never know, as she is the target of an initiative for mutant eradication unlike anything they X-Men have ever experienced. Many will be wounded. Several will die. Is Hope worth it?

Grreaaaaaaaaaaaat more death....because we all know that cheap deaths equal plot development right? Man, I loath the blundering use of death in comics these days. It's just so sloppy and poorly executed.

at least 3 are confirmed to die, one of which is a New Mutant, another heavily speculated to be Cable and the third a surprise. Im hoping that last one is Scott, but it could very well be Hope, who Id be surprised to see make it out of SC alive

I wouldn't be surprised to see Scott die either. As of now, my bets are on Magneto, Scott, Cable, Beast, and Nightcrawler.

I think that Hope will die... after all she is the mutant "messiah". the title alone suggests that she will die to save them all (likely to be resurrected at a later date)

It should be a bunch of those annoying young X-men characters that pop up out of nowhere. Why should long running X-Characters like Nightcrawler die when blindfold and the rest live.

I agree with Chamber Music...the youngest should die first..especially since they say somoen gets offed right out the gate to set the tone for how 'real' this is (geez...the Kyle/Yost mindset has perforated the entire X-Office) so it SHOULD be a kid...the older X-men are battle tested soldiers and should be ready for war..of course that doesnt mean they can't die..but still...

what a great opening issue. Finally the truth of X-force is coming out. I wonder why now though and why would Logan give the order to kill openly like that. Kurt's reaction was great. Psylocke didnt seem phased. I wonder if she already knew via her TP

well maybe shes still a bit 'off' from her solo-adventure (written by Yost). Mercury had to give her the "the X-Men don't kill" speech and even after the whole deal with Mat'suo she didn't seem like she came back to that innocent way of thinking.

but yes, Nightcrawler was probably the highlight of the whole. his reaction to Laura and his confronting Scott (and Scott's outburst) put a smile on my face. and if that's Scott's Alpha Roster, if Second Coming reformats the X-books i wouldn't mind seeing them together in a book.

Unfortunately I think this is Kurt's last hoorah. He's had nothing to do for over a year and now he's actually having an opinion and expressing his voice? I think he's going to get killed off in this story.

Are you talking about the Deathstrike who was part of the Sisterhood? Because I assumed that was just a robot made to look like her.
