There's a showing here on 4/20... my edible game is going to be on that day.

I feel like there's a disconnect of people who love Ari Aster's last two films thinking they're full-on horror films when in actuality they're black comedies with a ton of horror elements. Even he admits that some people don't get the comedy element in his films. The Strange Thing About the Johnsons is a prime example.

I just don't really want to see this movie, lol. Life can be anxiety inducing enough, I just have no desire to sit through someone's 3 hour existential angst torture porn. I just looks like it would be upsetting and a lot to digest, but not necessarily in the good way.

For the people who enjoy this type of thing, have at it. I loved Hereditary. It walked that line, but I see it very much as a horror movie, just a very scary one. This one doesn't look like it's for me.

…got out an hour ago, still racing around in my mind.

Will definitely need another viewing to lock down my opinions.

I have seen Beau is Afraid.
Its Pee Wee's Big Adventure but for psychopaths, just completely deranged, unhinged mother****ers, im talking absolutely insane sickos.
Fun for the whole family! Dont believe me? Ask the two kids sitting in the row behind me, they were having a BLAST.
Liked it a lot.

Won't be able to see this until May. :argh:

On the fence about going to see it. The trailer didn’t do much for me and the 3 hour run time sorta turns me off, I have the impression it would be a chore to watch. I do love Aster.

Although I’m still processing the entire experience, I’ve gotta say this is easily A24’s boldest film. Definitely gonna try checking it out one more times in theaters.

Zoe Lister-Jones did such a great job playing Beau's mother that I was worried that Patti LuPone wouldn't live up to it but holy sh** she did.

Oh and I am forever looking at the ceiling in my bathroom, just in case. :o

Either my mushrooms did it or it was edited this way; but, I swore in that 'going to bed' scene they slipped in a shot or two of Patti while Zoe was whispering to young 'Beau' with the nightlight rotating on their faces.

That was such an amazing editing job. It definitely gave me Lynch vibes in addition to the attic reveal.

Ari Aster sex scenes are in a league of their own.
