Matt Dillon and Columbus Short have signed on to topline the heist thriller Armored for Screen Gems.

The story centers on an armored car guard (Dillon) who is persuaded by his veteran cohorts to empty the truck of its $10 million.

Nimrod Antal (Vacancy) will direct from a James V. Simpson screenplay. Shooting is scheduled to begin later this year.

Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Dan Farah are producing, while Chris Lemos and Luis Guerrero are executive producing.

Dillon has also landed the starring role in another Screen Gems heist film, Bone Deep, produced by Overbrook Entertainment. In Bone Deep, he will play a Manhattan detective who is pit against a young crew that specializes in elaborate heists.

Ulrich Aboard Screen Gems' Armored

Skeet Ulrich ("Jericho," Scream) is returning to the big screen in Sony's Screen Gems drama "Armored."

Ulrich will play Dobbs, a scruffy member of an armored truck company team who plans to empty a truck of its $10 million. Matt Dillon and Columbus Short star. Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno and Fred Ward co-star.

Nimrod Antal (Vacancy) is directing from a screenplay by James V. Simpson. Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Dan Farah are producing, with Chris Lemos and Luis Guerrero co-executive producing. Filming began this week in Los Angeles.

Milo Ventimiglia Joins Armored

Milo Ventimiglia is joining the Screen Gems heist action pic Armored.

The "Heroes" star will join Skeet Ulrich, Matt Dillon, Columbus Short, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno and Fred Ward in the Nimrod Antal-directed film, which is shooting in Los Angeles. James V. Simpson wrote the screenplay.

Looks like Columbus Short plays the "hero" and Dillon is the "villain" when everything starts to get too messy for its own good.

could've sworn i saw a tv spot for this the other day and it dropped the f-bomb, then the next couple of times it aired it looked badly edited and went by faster.
