Mila Kunis was the only good thing and she's only in it for like 20 minutes total.

Film was boring as hell, what's the big deal about this movie?

True Grit is way better than this.

Also what's with Arons fail camera work non stop jerking felt like i was ona ride at a fun fair or something.

*Insert random Leo Inception that Kane uses*

haha I forgot all about that smiley

Is anyone else nervous that they might just go and give the Oscar to Annette Bening?

but Bening is winning. its the oscar for her previous movies. Portman will get the oscar the same way.

Not a chance. Her performance was actually pretty average, IMO. Just playing a normal mom, really. Natalie blew me away, and her acting usually gets on my nerves.

Visual Effects Reel

I'm very impressed with the work they've done. Huge spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie yet.

Cool I always like this kind of stuff. Wish there's more like this but more in depth.

I haven't seen The Kids Are All right and I'm personally rooting for Portman but I wouldn't be surprised if they do give the oscar for Best Actress to Benning since it's a overdue win then.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say that there's no way Natalie Portman won't win the Oscar for best actress. She was heads and shoulders above any other nominee.

She carried the film with her performance and I'm rooting for her, but you'll never know for sure with the academy members.

To be honest, I'd be more pissed if Natalie didn't win the oscar than if TSN doesn't win best picture.

Agreed. I'm more concerned with Portman and Bale winning than TSN wining BP, because I could see the Academy pulling a surprise bad choice in those categories (Bening and Rush) while Fincher and Sorkin are a lock. Plus, I already fully expect for TKS too (wrongfully) win BP next month.

I absolutely loved this movie. Probably my favorite of the year along with Toy Story 3.

At least Portman will win best actress:up:

Well, that hardly matters to the Academy. They have an embarrassing history of selecting the wrong performances to bestow their Oscars upon, and they've passed over Bening several times already. I hope not, but they may decide it's "her time."

Black Swan DVD/Blu-Ray Possible Release Date

Online retailer DVD World USA is listing Black Swan on Blu-ray and DVD with a March 8 release, approximately 1 week after the Oscars wrap up and only 81 days after its mid-December expanded theatrical launch.

Amazon.com is already taking pre-orders for Black Swan on Blu-ray and DVD complete with discounted pricing and what appears to be official cover art. Unlike DVD World USA they are not yet posting a release date.

Wow, that was quick. Went ahead and pre-ordered it via Amazon.

They should have waited a little bit so that they could change Portman from "nominee" to "winner."

:woot: :hehe:

5/10

The hype for this movie is way out of proportion to its quality. I found I tolerated this film more then I enjoyed it. The story, artistic merit and even the performances have been extremely overstated. The thing I was most disappointed in was Aronofsky’s direction or at least the use of his camera. I swear that 50% of this film is a steady cam shot five inches from Natalie Portman’s face. 10% is more hand-cam directly on her shoulder. One thing’s for sure, I hope Aronofsky leaves the hand held stuff at home when he films The Wolverine. Maybe he wanted this film to feel claustrophobic and jarring but it was very distracting and even nauseating at times.

I'm pretty sure that The Wolverine will have a different look then this. For Black Swan Aronofsky wanted to have the same grainy, vérité feel similar to The Wrestler.

Cool featurette. It's very interesting to see the process of one of the best film of 2010.

Aronofsky really did a wonderful job with Black Swan and the featurette shed some insight of his directing skill in the film.

fantasic movie,fantastic director.

but i hate when the guy in the video says that tehy used a documentary style to make it look realistic. BS. its cliche to say this for promotion.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, or if I mentioned it already, but did anyone who's seen the anime Perfect Blue kind of feel like Black Swan reminded them of that anime? The basic groundwork of the premise, the way the main character's life blurs between reality, imagination, and delusion, etc. It's just funny, 'cause I've always wondered if anyone would ever make a live-action Perfect Blue movie (I'd be genuinely surprised if they hadn't done it already in Japan), and looking at Black Swan, I feel like it's as close of an adaptation as you could get, without it being that film.
