Anybody else pissed about this?

Over the years I've learned about so many small jems from this show now it's gone.

I don't understand why they can't keep it on the smaller networks. It can't be that expensive to produce.

No interest...the internet has essentially taken that niche over....

As long as the great Roger Ebert continues to write for as long as he can, I won't miss the show.

Besides, every since Roeper and Ebert left its not been great anyway.

Until about a year ago, I thought it had been cancelled after the Roeper and guest host period. I didn't watch the Scott and Philips reviews that much, but I liked them enough to follow their written reviews.

Without really going too far into detail right now, this is what I believe killed the show in a nutshell:
1. Roger Ebert having to depart due to illness. It's easy to blame the death of Gene Siskel for this show jumping the proverbial shark, but the show kept going for at least, seven more years.

2. The internet as previously mentioned

3. The one season with "The Two Bens"

I saw that this morning....good for him, I don't always agree with what he has to say, but he's always backed his opinions in a very succinct and reasonable way

unlike other "review" sites I won't mention *cough* AICN,SPill,IGN *cough*

Christy Lemire is like the only attractive film critic. It's about time she got a TV show.

I actually liked the new format.Even though I didn't agree with them all the time.

The show is on PBS...so expect the show to be bumped several times in 2011 for PBS Pledge drives. They have at least two per month.
