I bought an Audio book at Half price books for the hell of it. To listen while I am at work..

I am now listening the a BBC presentation of Lord of the Rings...

Anyone else listen to Audio books? Just curious..if you enjoy them or not...

I buy them when i take long road trips. They are great company and sometimes i get tired of music.

I'm a big reader, never listened to an audio book before.

We listened to an audio book of one of those depressing Lemony Snickett book on a four hour ride home from Lake George. I hated audio books from that day on.

I listen to them when I go on long trips thats about it. I sometimes listen to them on the way to work and way home since there is alot of traffice in DC.

I never have, I dont think I have the patience for them.

Never listened but i doubt id like it. Takes a lot of concentration and id end up not listening cuz id put it on while doing something else. I think reading books is much better. You read at your pace and your own tone.

Oh sure, I listen to them everyday :oldrazz:

Great for car trips. I listen to them while I clean the house or to fall asleep sometimes.

Yep. I borrow them from the library and rip them to my iPod. I've got tons of good stuff, Robert Heinlien, Asimov, Clark, Orson Scott Card, Addams, Anne Rice, Tolkien, Twain, Stephen King and that's all I can think of off the top of my noggin.

Fancy a trade?

audio books rule. Especially ones that are made for audio. Like "Make Love* *The Bruce Campbell Way"

I would think that a bad reading would ruin an otherwise good book so I don't want to risk that...therefore why I stay away from audio books.

I'd prefer to just read the book "old fashion". How lazier can we get?

Well I guess it's understandable if youre REALLY busy, or driving in a car or something. Turning pages can be really exhausting.

Even then, shouldnt you be like focused, on like you know, driving. Instead of hearing who killed DUmbledore?

People listen to music while driving, I'm sure they can handle listening to a story.

Not really, with audio books you actually have to pay attention to whats going on. Its like skipping 5 pages of a book.

I've gone to bed listening to a song on repeat and woke up and had it memorized.
