And how does this evil Thanos exist when he was killed in a recent cosmic storyline and reborn in Thanos imperative?

Asking why re-do the infinity gauntlet is like if you'd ask "why re-do the batman movies?" before Batman Begins comes out.
You re-do it cuz you're going to do it different and because the source material is so amazing it deserves even more.

the original IG is in my mind still the best comic story event that's ever been done.

Why remake as an all ages book? Why not just re-release the original mini on better paper and new covers (painted or something).

Why go through the hassle of a new writer/artist that's gonna change the words? Is there a link for the story?

Because some people might not know the original story, or a fan might want to see a new spin on one of his favorites.

First of all, this seems to be geared to a younger audience, ones who dont know the story. The comic industry needs to bring in new, young reader to build a future on.

Second, even if it wasnt geared to younger, the Avengers played a small role in the original Gauntlet series. So it would be cool to see a series that would tell the story from a new and different perspective. It wouldnt be a rehash, it would be an expansion on the story.

If Infinity Gauntlet came out now there would be dozens of tie in books; IG Avengers, IG Silver Surfer, IG Spider-Man, IG Nova, IG Guardians of the Galaxy, etc...

If Infinity Gauntlet came out now there would be dozens of tie in books; IG Avengers, IG Silver Surfer, IG Spider-Man, IG Nova, IG Guardians of the Galaxy, etc...

Those tie-ins were mostly pointless. New readers should do what I (and the rest of us did), buy back issues (or a trade) if you're curious about an old crossover. Why should they have it any easier?

And why bother anyway? You can get the IG trade off Amazon for what...? $15? These new issues will be $4 a pop probably.
