I enjoyed reading something like this on the DC board for the JLA and was suprised no one had asked this question over here. So.....

What ideas do you have about an Avengers movie series? Actors, Directors, Costumes, Villains, Plots?

I am not exactly sure about any ideas, but I do think it would be cool to have the Ant Man movie, Captain America Movie, and Iron Man movie, have a giant crossover thing.
They could plan it somehow to have each character have about two movies out and then have each of the character's third films be the Avenger movie.
Something like this.

I got the idea when Jon said he told the studio that Iron Man 3 should be called the Avengers.
Of coarse there can be some variations, for example maybe Ant Man doesn't have a second movie or perhaps Captain America doesn't have time to do a second film before the Avengers is started. In that case one character would have only one film while the others or one other has two films.
They should still have it be like a massive crossover of the films.

I hope they go as close to the original first issue of the Avengers as possible, only have them thaw out Cap early on as they're searching for the Hulk, (kinda like in the Ultimates) but at the end, after they realize the Hulk is innocent, have him decline to join the team and the rest (Cap, IM, Thor, Antman, and Wasp (if she's in it)) can form the Avengers as a first-strike team handled by Fury. Do all the solo films first, then the Avengers film.

i have an idea let the story be like stan lees original plot at first but wheh they recruit cap have the feds get involved via cap's army supieriors[ since at that point he IS missing in action military personel.] that is how the national security types can get involved when the feds decide the avengers are OUTSIDE military jurisdiction

If a Thor movie comes after Avengers, than Loki would work as the first villain. If Thor comes first, than I think they should pick another villain.

It's a little tricky, because unlike X-Men, Spider-Man, and FF, the Avengers don't really have that one single milestone villain that is always associated with the team. :xmen:-Men have Magneto, :spidey: has :gg:(or :sym:), Skull and Zemo (Cap's got them covered), and the :ff: have Doom. A lot of those guys came from other books.

As for the Avengers, they've got Kang (who's also FF), Loki (who's mainly Thor), Mandarin (who's all over Iron Man). Ultron comes close, but he needs a hefty backstory. Very few of the best Avengers villains originated in the title itself.

The first villain shouldn't be too out-there, like Thanos, but still be a substantial Earth-shaking threat.

Kang would make a nice behind-the-scenes villain for the whole series of movies, manipulating events, setting up villains.
I could definitely see the Masters of Evil for the second film, for the first one I'd go with a solo villain or two, like Loki.

Um...wouldn't it be easier to just...type the words?

The original team of Cap, Iron Man, Ant Man, Thor, and Wasp battling Hulk or Loki.. That's what I'd like to see :)

Avengers Assemble! I say adapt Avengers Forever by Kurt Busiek, Kang and Son attempt the takeover of Earth and all the Avengers must stop them. It is the perfect opportunity to introduce several of Earths Mightiest Heroes properly. I realize you cannot have 40 heroes in a live action film but, I could live with 7 major heroes, 5 supporting, and 3 cameos.

My Top 7

Captain America= Tom Jane
Iron Man= Robert Downey Jr
Thor=Gerard Butler
Ms Marvel=Denise Richards
Wasp=Rachel McAdams
Hawkeye= Jonas Armstrong (BBC America's Robin Hood)
YellowJacket=Owen Wilson

Next 5
Scarlet Witch=Kate Winslet
She-Hulk=Eva Mendez
Vision=CGI character ( Voice of Jude Law)
Black Panther=Omar Epps
Wonder Man=Jude Law

3 Cameos
Incredible Hulk=Edward Norton
Blade= Wesley Snipes
Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D =Sean Bean

I forgot the director would be Ryuhei Kitamura
(he directed Azumi,Versus, and of course Godzilla Final Wars!!!
I think he joins Robert Rodriguez as 2 of the best young Action directors working today and thus would be perfect for assembling the Avengers.

The Avengers should use their early 80's costumes, which were still nearly identical to each heroes original outfits. Kang should be joined in his quest by The Wrecking Crew, Loki, and funded by Obadiah Stane SP? I thank the crew at SuperHeroHype for my birthday E-Mail, it was cool.

A post on another board gave me an idea. If Hulk is on the team, he should be handled differently than he was originally. Closer to Ultimates I expect, but on the founders you have Stark, Pym, Janet, and Bruce Banner, all scientists before becoming superheroes. So this group of scientists should definitely be the ones to discover Cap's body (it could be revealed after a battle with an undersea villain).

Also if, or rather when, Hulk leaves the team, they could put a whole new spin on that than has ever been done before, give him a whole different reason for leaving.

The way I would do it:

2008: Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk
2009: Captain America and Ant-Man
2010: Thor and Nick Fury
2011: the Invincible Iron Man and Hawkeye
2012: Captain America 2, Dr. Strange, and Black Widow
2013: the Mighty Thor and Black Panther
2014: The Avengers - Starring Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Giant-Man, Wasp, Black Widow, and Hawkeye with multiple cameos

I don t know how many years Universal have with HULK contract but How about avenger who reunite to stop HULK?

Hulk may be great for the first half of the film, while Loki becomes the main villain. Or Ultron.

I'd go with Ultron. He's a classic Avengers villain whose presence wouldn't contradict anything that may happen in a Thor movie, and the idea of a robot gaining sentience isn't really all that hard to do. Have his rising be the reason the team assembles.

The real question is the line-up. You could go cheap and keep the biggest members out, but I'd really rather not see that. I'd start with the big three of Cap, Iron Man and Thor, throw in Wasp and Hank Pym (choose which code-name you want), add a few others, and it doesn't matter which (choose from a field of Vision, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, Wonder Man, Falcon... there are plenty, eh?).

Avengers Time line
Cap America movie based in WWII, being frozen in the end.
Iron-Man should have two movies by the time an Avenger movie gets made.
Thor movie should be made, where Thor is in Asgard, but ends up following Loki to earth where Loki got banished, in order to protect the planet from his half-brother or something like that.
A Nick Fury movie should be made, a war movie in Veitnam, and the creating of Sheild, and him being chosen to run Sheild.
And there should be no Ant-man movie. Hank should be introduce in the Avenger movie.

(a very rough idea)
Avenger One should be Cap's Arrival, the team being Formed. And Loki as the baddie. The starting team should be CAp. America, Giant-Man, the Wasp, Iron-Man. and Thor.

Avengers two should be the Avengers taking on Red Skull and AIM. Hawkeye and Black widow should join the team in this movie.

Avengers three should be a Civil Warish type of story. Heroes vs Heroes. Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage should be introduce in this movie.

Cast
Captain America - Scott Caan (yep laugh about it but think, good build, decent actor, cheap enough to keep for a franchise, and a good chin, he is a good choice for Cap)
Iron Man - Robert Downey Jr
Thor - Alexander Skarsgard (if he can build some more muscle)

Hank Pyrm - Zachary Quinto
Wasp - kelly Hu
Nick Fury - Matthew Modine(Full metal jacket)

A new terrorist group has been formed, and the government is losing control. They need to subdue this ever present threat. The government decides to put to form a team to defeat the threat, known as the Avengers. The team includes Iron Man, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Thor, and Wasp. However, Stark Industries stumble upon a great discovery, CAPTAIN AMERICA. He is in stasis, and waiting to be thawed. Cap is then thawed, and introduced to the new world. This becomes a big point of the movie. Cap isn't sure this new world is worth fighting for. He joins the team reluctantly.

Meanwhile, the threat turns out to be headed by Cap's greates enemy, the Red Skull. The Skull sees this world as in deep conflict, and ripe for the taking. He likes it. Apparantly, he was thawed years before Cap was found. He is searching for an object that Hitler had the Nazi's search for, but to no avail, the Cosmic Cube. The Skull takes the cube, and begins to mold the world in his image. All hope seems lost, all the other Avengers are defeated, minus one, Captain America. The Skull is about to kill Cap, savoring each moment, when Cap suddenly lifts from Thor's unliftable hammer, and smashes the cube (which the Skull is grasping in his hands), thus destroying the Skull as he and it became one.

The other members grow to respect Cap, and he is seen as the unquestioned leader. Cap also comes to terms with the new world, and grows to like it.

I may also have someone like Loki ressurect the Skull (to find the Cube...and this makes Thor joining much easier, since Loki is involved).

This is at the top of my head, but it isn't bad. Of course, the Skull is the Captain America movie villain, but the Skull has taken the Avengers on many occasions himself, and serves as a good first villain.

After him, I'd make Ultron the villain and introduce Vision (who turns on Ultron, and almost kills himself. Ant-Man destroys Ultron and undoes his evil creation). In the third, Kang the Conqueror.

I want to see Kang hit the big screen so badly... I hope it happens.

avengers 3 a "civil warrish kind of story?" ugh no thanks

Civil War had a good concept, but VERY poor execution. I stress the word very.

What they need to stress is plot and acting once you have that down, the rest will fall into place.
