Avi compression

Ive got a 700MB file that i need to compress to under 500MB,what free and easy to use prgram do i need ?

Quicktime Pro. Export it into an AVI or Mpeg or .mov using Sorenson 3 or something along those lines. Or download a free trial of After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut, or something like that. Or Email it to me (in a Zip) and I'll do it for you.
