Meh...looks like a cheap PG-13 version of Children Of Men. I'll skip this.

Found this on rottentomatoes.com forums, Fox continues to be the root of film evil.

"Babylon A.D. hits theaters this coming weekend, August 29th, but apparently it's not going to be the movie that even its director, Mathieu Kassovitz, wanted it to be. In a rather eye-opening interview with AMC, Kassovitz opens up about the problems he had with Fox and the troubles with the film. If you're one of those people who thought it wouldn't be a problem if Fox ended up getting the distribution rights to Watchmen, just wait until you read about the things they did to Kassovitz and the situation they've left him in - I think you'll change your mind. This is truly a tragic story to hear and unfortunately it's too late to do anything anyway. "I never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience."

Kassovitz starts off this tragic tale by explaining that "the scope of the original book [that this is based on] was quite amazing." But unfortunately the result is not the same. "It's pure violence and stupidity," Kassovitz says. And that's not a good thing that he's describing. "The movie is supposed to teach us that the education of our children will mean the future of our planet. All the action scenes had a goal: They were supposed to be driven by either a metaphysical point of view or experience for the characters… instead parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24." If a director is saying that about his own movie, you definitely know something went wrong, very wrong. Kassovitz attempts to explain how the entire film slipped out of his hands and into Fox's, which is where all the problems began.

Apparently the film had production problems from the start, including weather delays and budget concerns. "Fox was sending lawyers who were only looking at all the commas and the dots. They made everything difficult from A to Z." Then, as we know, Fox stepped in around April and cut the film down, quite a bit. The official running time is supposedly only 90 minutes, but apparently that's much shorter (or different) than it could have been. Kassovitz says that "I know what I had — I had something much better in my hands but I just wasn't allowed to work." And he goes on to say "I don't see how people who went through all these amazing blockbusters like The Dark Knight and Iron Man this summer will take it." That's probably the smartest thing I've heard, considering most filmmakers just shrug off other movies like that.

I knew there were problems with Fox and Babylon A.D. earlier this year when we reported that they were cutting it down, but I didn't even know Kassovitz was this upset. That explains why he's not doing any press for the film. I actually was excited to see this, based on the trailers, but now I'm not even sure I will. Hearing what Kassovitz said has left me quite depressed and quite angry at Fox. Now you know why I am so adamantly fighting against their acquisition of Watchmen. Hearing a director say "I had something much better in my hands" is such a sad thing to hear. And if we can leave you, or anyone, with a bit of wisdom, we'll let Kassovitz tell it to you. "I should have chosen a studio that has guts. Fox was just trying to get a PG-13 movie. I'm ready to go to war against them, but I can't because they don't give a ****."

Man, FOX is easily the most hated movie studio in Hollywood, haha.

I can't blame the director at all, it seemed like he had a special film going on. But the marketing and trailers just turned it into some cyberpunk actionfest with no heart. Any chance of a director's cut when it comes to Blu-Ray?

I didnt think it was possible I could hate Fox anymore after Eragon and especially X3, but at the moment, I do, I hope they get their hands NO WERE NEAR Watchmen, leave it to WB.

Pretty much the same thing they did with Hitman. Re-shoots and re-edits for everyone! Now B.AD suffers the same fate, Payne will likely go this way as well.

I hate Fox so god damn much.

Don't forget Wolverine will also suck

Ahh crap, forgot about that.

Money hungry *********. They don't deserve the rights they have bought.

We should get Singer & Kassovitz & Smith together in a room to talk about their bad Comic Book Movie experiences. Smith can go on about the Giant Spider & the other two can compare them to Fox

I have been looking forward to this movie since it first went into production, but now I feel that if I see it I am supporting what Fox did to it and it's director. It makes me so angry the way Fox is. They are nothing but a bunch of money loving spineless pricks! I hope that by some miracle this film will get a release on DVD in the form the director intended.

^It probably will if, and only IF Fox think it can get them more money, they're scum, complete scum and I will never pay to watch one of their movies until they clear their act up. Idiots.

They'll probably release an 'unrated' cut along with the DVD first.

I can understand their logic in a way (understand, not support), but what I don't understand is how they can think what they do will work.

Alright, shorter movies could make more, faster, due to more showings per day, but when you're cutting all the substance to make that shorter movie all you're doing is ensuring less people see it to lower the takings. It's completely idiotic.

What's worse (besides them actually doing it, of course) is that they think we're stupid enough not to notice, and will actually lie about firing people to cover their asses.

This wont be getting my money now, I'll catch it for the action in the bargain bucket in a few months, Fox really is a soulless dump of a studio.

I haven't seen it, but it looks like "Horton Hears a Who" was the only good movie Fox made in 2008 so far...

I feel bad for the director of Babylon A.D.,I hope Fox doesn't turn Max Payne into an hour and a half movie by editing a fair amount of stuff out. Fox need's to stop the terrible things that they tend to be do to certain movies, but they won't get my money once more if I decide to watch one of their movies at work since I still get to view movies for free there. About Babylon A.D.,the last time I checked at Rotten Tomatoes.com,the movie had 00% with 5 bad reviews.

I wonder how Fox will ruin Max Payne? So far, it looks good but I'm sure it's barely watchable, however.

I was going to watch this in theatres. But FOX pulled their usual crap. I can't wait for Tom Rothman and John Davis to retire. Those guys have tarnished my childhood. (OK I admit to liking the Unrated Die Hard 4, but they raped Alien, Predator, X-Men and I'm sure Max Payne isn't safe from Rothman's stupidity.)

By the end of the year Paramount might be the only studio that doesn't have shyte for brains left.

No!

I'm so pist off...I really thought that this could be a great movie. The book is classic and so should the movie be. I really had hopes for that....Fox...why?

I'll see it,but my expectations will be low for sure. Its gotta be sad that the director is dissing the movie, makes ya wonder what more did Fox do to him than what he said. I like to get Vin Diesal's comments on this,I'm sure he will take the neutral role and say the movie will be good. Its a shame for Vin,I like the guy hes a decent actor if given the right role...
I just bought the book,so it will take me awhile to read it(only read at work :)).

way to go, FOX.

too bad, i had relatively high hopes for this movie. i guess i'll just wait for the director's cut dvd.

You'll be lucky if it gets a DC.

Hopefully Fox will HAVE to put out DCs of all the movies they have ruined recently just to keep afloat, not a single $100 mil movie this summer.
