Thanks to regular reader Mary for pointing this one out ... according to the official blog for the film there are two rather different versions of Mathieu Kassovitz’ big budget sci-fi actioner Babylon A.D. - with Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and Gerard Depardieu - being prepared. Europeans are getting a longer cut of the film in theaters in early 2008 while Fox, which holds rights in most non-European regions, have requested a significantly shorter version of the film, which they plan to release in North America at the end of August. According to Allocine the Euro version will run two hours and forty minutes.

I had no idea Fox had their hands on this movie too. Sucks if you live outside Europe.

Looks good to me. Remember when Vin turned down Daredevil for XXX. Damnit I like XXX but he could have made Daredevil 1000 times better IMO. Affleck sucked.

Which artist? Matt has been drawn pretty bulky and rough before. You can even see Vin in a Joe Quesada Daredevil with the right light and make-up.

That's cause Quesada draws like crap...but that IMO. But on a serious note....You think Vin would play Matt Bald? Or with a wig.

I doubt Viggo would do Daredevil. Vin would have made an interesting Bullseye (the role he was in talks for) but i wouldn't want him as Matt.

No he was offered Matt Murdoch. At least that what he said, and every other site said out there unless it was all a lie and speculation. He was also considered for Abe Sapien & Hellboy.

Not really. But he could convince us that he grew up in the Kitchen. And he could look like DD in costume.

I always read Bullseye, at any rate Affleck wasn't the problem for DD, it was MSJ and Fox.

To me my only problem with the film was Affleck and his pathetic piss poor excuse of an attempt to be an action star and perform in choreographed fight sequences that to this date make a Barney Song & Dance feel like Mortal Kombat. That's my opinion and I realize many people liked him. New Regency for sure F'd up the theatrical release but the DC was great on every single level with the exception of the lead. Also Daredevil isn't a Fox film it's controlled my New Regency as is Elektra. I think Marvel will get the rights back in a month or two or they might already have them back.

You didn't like the action fights? I thought Daredevil was supposed to be acrobatic, not a brawler who can easily get shot.
