Action-Adventure Bad Boys 4

There's something inherently funny about the last one being the highest grossing film of its year and this one, of all movies, overperforming in the era of "are theaters dead?"

Rewatched 2 and 3 this weekend. I really like the character dynamic in the third one. I thought it was much more interesting than the action to be honest.

Wow surprised this was a $100M budget. Hollywood needs to learn to keep budgets down if they want to have successful movies. As much as I loved Furiousa, the budget was way overboard
There is a difference between a financial success and a creative one. Furiosa will endure.

The last Bad Boys movie had a budget of $90M and grossed $426M worldwide. The fact that this one only cost $10M more than that means they were practically frugal this time around.

And that $10m was probably just the increase in everyones’s salaries, honestly. Hollywood needs to get budgets under control. I’m really worried about Dead Reckoning Part II next year because there is no way that movie recoups its $400m production costs.

From the studio that gave us 3 Ghostbusters movies since 2016. They could release Bad Boys 5 to 7 at this point.

Though I'm not interested watching this. I was too young when the first/2nd movie came out. When the third one came out in 2020, I just ignored it and didn't realize until this year, that it was successful. This just doesn't appeal to me.

Yup this is a hit. And its going to have good legs. I say this finishes at 350m ww.

This is probably the worst BB movie, yet I did enjoy it quite a bit. The leads as always were great. And I thought Armando was great in this as well. Really liked where they left him also and glad his past sins were not just forgotten here.

My boy Reggie got his chance to finally shine also. My issues were with the plot and villains. The plot is thin and the villains are by far the least memorable in the series. It's a shame because the villains are normally quite entertaining in these movies but not here.

The action is always well shot, but some scenes are also amateurish as well. And it's a real shame Theresa Randall couldn't return. I also thought Mike's marriage came out of no where.

Smith and Lawrence were on absolute top form though, and they hold everything together. The Captain's role was good also and I liked them including his family.

7/10

I, too, had no idea that windshield fluid was flammable.

Enjoyed this even more on 2nd viewing. The villains and plot still aren't great but the movie does have heart, more than I gave it credit for.

Really interested to see where they go with Armando, they gave him a good role here but I also like where they left him. Reggie also I wouldn't mind getting another slightly extended role.

One of the Bad Boys has died and come back in each of the last 2 movies, hope they don't pull anything like that in the next one. Will be good to see which direction they go though. Sony isn't doing too bad with it's legacy sequels.
