Actually, people were praising him way before Batman Begins. American Psycho and Equillibrium in particular are cult favorites around here being referenced all the time. It's because of those movies that people constantly suggested him for Batman Begins and it was one hell of a dream come true when he got the role. People like Bale because he's a very good actor and a very cool guy. Don't tell people what they think.
