The Dark Knight Bale on the Casting of Ledger

Good to hear the positive response from Bale. Guess they start filming when he wraps up 3:10 To Yuma.

I'd say they will end filming and only then Bale will start working on 3:10 To Yuma.

I thought Yuma was filming this fall?

Nobody sticks a gun to the actor´s head for him to say anything. If Ledger wasn´t passionate about the role, he didn´t have to say it, he´d just say, "well, the man was nominated for an Oscar". Ledger is already an established and respected actor, he doesn´t need anybody pushing PR for him.

I'm sure Nolan would have atleast consulted with Bale about Ledger's involvement.

This film will be like the second X-Men movie....

The director calls it The Dark Knight.

The studio markets it as Batman: The Dark Knight.

3:10 to Yuma is based on the 1957 film that starred Glenn Ford as captured outlaw Ben Wade, who finds himself in the custody of small-time rancher Dan Evans. The rancher is secretly trying to take the outlaw to a railway station to catch a train to Yuma for the outlaw's court date. A battle of wills ensues.

Mangold's take sees Crowe as the outlaw and Bale as the rancher. Michael Brandt, Derek Haas and Stuart Beattie have all contributed to the
screenplay.

The
movie is on track for a fall shoot. Mangold has directed Walk the Line, Identity, Kate & Leopold, Girl, Interrupted and Cop Land.

And what then? BB3 will be like X3? No way.

That isn't so good idea, it is just like Superman: The Man of Steel, what won't sound cool.

TDK sounds much better than B:TDK.

And I doubt WB will change the title.

Oh, now I remember this. Sorry :O

I'm happy with the casting. At first I wasn't. But wiith Bale's words of enthusiasm, I guess it could work.

What did he say?
Here's the quote:
The only spoiler “Batman Begins” has attached to it is Katie Holmes, who has attached herself to Tom Cruise, in what seems to be the biggest publicity stunt of both of their careers thus far.

“Good for them,” says Bale sarcastically, recently, about his co-star’s ‘situation’ while sitting in an air-conditioned suite at The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, sipping from a bottle of Fiji water. “But who the **** cares? Most people who really care about each other don’t need to make such a spectacle.”

Warner Bros don't care how cool it sounds. All that matters is that everybody knows this is a Batman movie.

Warner Bros won't change the title. Fox didn't change the title of X2, they just marketed it as X2: X-Men United.

Well, if Christian Bale is happy with Ledger, then i'm happy:batty:

I watched Walk The Line and Phoenix sorta came my favourite choice, dont worry I'm still behind Schrieber getting the role as well.

Again, I will laugh at people who dont think that Ledger is good choice and then will change their mind after 1st pic of Joker :D :p

1. People can change their mind when they want it and where they want it.

2. It was just a joke. WHere is your sense of humour?

3. If they change their mind (and they will :D), I will laugh at them, because I will be right.

4. You are too rude for n00be :D :p

Too bad you weren't right about Superman Returns. You were basically sucking Singer's cock, and look at how that steaming pile turned out. Loser. :) Just kidding, man. Just because this is directly specifically towards you, don't take it personally.

:D

But actually, I have already said that I was wrong. Besides, if you look at my predictions for other movies, you'll find that I was right with POTC2 and DVC numbers.

Besides, if I was wrong only one time, it doesn't mean I am bad predictor.

Hmm, to me that sounds pretty personal.

LOL. Wow, did you really change your mind? What didn't you like about it?
