Banned users - Part 8

Figs was a huge DC fan, and he got tired of WB so he didn't see a reason in posting anymore. I'm putting it nicely too because his PM to me was bit more... angry bastard. :o

That makes zero sense. DC makes questionable decisions, and he cuts himself off from this community...that kind of logic is lost on me. He will be missed, and I wish he hadn't requested a banning just in case he decided to return down the road. If he ever wants to return I hope the mods will consider letting him rejoin the community.

Poor Figs, I hardly knew you. :csad:

No, seriously, who are you? Or shall I say were?

His last few posts were in Robin Williams thread. I wonder if that triggered the request a bit?

I didn't know Figs much personally, but he seemed like a reasonable, decent, below-the-radar poster. I wish him all the best.

I'm not trying to be a copy cat or anything, this is something I've been thinking about for few weeks...but I'm finally going to go ahead and send PM to mods request a probationary ban so I can focus on some work-related goals. I'm going to put this post here for reference.

I looked at that SelfControl app that Parker mentioned....but I think that only works for Mac..I know there are PC versions but I have don't like thought of downloading weird code to my computers.

Anyway, I hope you're all doing well in my absence. Take Care

Do you honestly not have the impulse control to stop yourself from coming to the hype?

Few days/weeks I can handle, esp when traveling...but months on end can be difficult when you're working/studying at computer..the temptation to want to respond stuff you're surfing can take lot of valuable time away. Anyway, this is last question I'll answer about it so no further distractions...I've sent off PM.

Instead of asking to be banned because he can't stop responding to DA, why not just do as DA always announces he's doing ad nauseum, and put him on ignore? Seems like an easier solution than committing online hari-kari.

:sleepy:

I remember when I was in Cabo earlier this year and my wife was like how come I wasn't enjoying the humpback whales jumping out of the water and I told her it was because someone was wrong on SHH and I had to jump online to reply to them.

I'm not a fan of people announcing their decision to get banned. It feels like they're fishing for the "oh my god don't leave!!" reply.

I could when I was at school. It wasnt that hard but now that I'm out its a lot harder unless I have something to do.

Agreed

I'm with ya.

Also, I find the whole "I need to get myself banned because I can't stay away from the Hype" thing to be pretty silly and, ultimately, overdramatic. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

I think Sentinel would require some irresistibly delicious bait and a magic fishing rod to successfully get a nibble at that.

If anyone wants to stop posting, here is a suggestion (follow these steps):
  • Change your password to something long and easy to forget
    • i.e.: 111111211111111112222111 (don't count, use your feelings)
  • Copy it from "new password" to "confirm new password"
  • Don't save your new password
  • Forget the password
[blackout]P.S: Keep the e-mail you used to register, and your username if you want a new password and return to posting sometime later[/blackout]
Beats asking to get yourself banned

Figs? Figs?
He's one of my favorites, it's a real shame he's gone :csad:

He liked Man of Steel, I thought he would look forward to more DC movies

Damn, I never thought Figs would get banned, it sucks that he's gone. :csad:

Figs is gone?!

Damn, Figs was a good poster. :(

Wow... I've never heard of someone actually requesting to be banned.

Figs was good people. Sometimes it's best just to walk away before you resort to lowering yourself. I don't know what happened , , but maybe that's we he needed.
