Barbarian | Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, Justin Long

If only Smile was on a streaming service, that'd make for a perfect double feature.

Well. You could always do a double feature of this and Men. The latter might be the grossest horror film this year lol.

I dunno. Did you see Crimes of the Future? That I would call the grossest just because of some of the body horror imagery.

Yeah, I saw that one too. It’s also very gruesome but I think Men edges it out in that category.

To me it's been Men, The Sadness, and Smile when it comes to gross body horror.

I saw this the other day. It’s the only marketing I’ve seen, which also made me know this film exists.

I honestly thought it was gonna be a goofy comedy based on the title of the video. I now want to see this film.

This makes me happy! Tried to find the film in my city, but it wasn’t playing in any theatres!

Been doing surprisingly well at not looking up spoilers for the film, unlike with most stuff.

Excited to watch it again with my wife this time. She has no idea what she's getting into...

CRIMES OF THE FUTURE was quite icky.

I literally had my jaw agape at the ending of MEN.

Yeah, THE SADNESS goes hard.

BARBARIAN I think was the most revolting of this bunch of horror flicks. That bottle.... :barf:

I think it’s more clarifying which service it will be on
Why not just say "Barbarian Coming to Hulu on Such and Such Date"? That would be actually informative and less clickbaity

Yeah just saw this and found it enjoyable but i was expecting a mind blowing twist from what people were hyping this up to be and it ended up being more or less straightforward. But the director has a lot of style so i give him that.

Yeah, the mother was barely a presence. I appreciated trying to develop the characters but I think too much time was given to Justin Long’s backstory

Yeah like i was struggling to find the thematic through-line in this movie. We’d focus on a certain thing and i’d be like “ookkk…how is all this relevant to the plot?”

Seemed pretty clear that the film was about the ripple effects of abuse and male entitlement. Who are the real "monsters" in the film?

I enjoyed this, but the hype did really have me expecting something more nuts than this really was. Especially with folks bringing it up in the same breath as Malignant.

I'm glad I was able to watch this without knowing anything about the story, and I also mostly missed the hype. I only heard that people thought it was pretty good.

I assumed
the whole movie was going to be about Keith being the bad guy, and he was just putting on an act at first... so that twist was a nice surprise. Which is also kind of sad I guess, since he actually was a nice guy :csad:
