Comedy Barbie: The Movie

Even though I don't think it needs one, but i wonder what they'll do for the sequel. I saw someone suggest a body swap comedy but idk
Skipper wants to take over Barbie Land deeming her sister a boomer

Will she appear in an armchair professing her love for Freud? :o

Next one should be a crossover with G.I. Joe.

You can bet that if Mattel made G.I. Joe and not Hasbro there'd be a Barbie/Joe crossover movie in the pipeline.

Mattel is going to rake it in on the merchandise. Here's the new "weird" Barbie...

So $531m dom so far and still massive weekdays. Monday at $4.8m still feels crazy at this stage.

Why on earth so soon? It's still making a crapload of money. Is WB sticking to the 45 days window no matter what?

I don't think it matters as much for the digital release where you're essentially paying full price to own the movie. It already made a billion, I don't think this will hurt it much at all. If it was coming to Max after 45 days it would be a bit more alarming.

It still is a very short window for a film of this magnitude and it will somewhat affect box office even if it won't make a ton of difference. Heck, just knowing that films come out in digital in only a month and a half after release is what keeps people from going to the cinema in general. That's why Oppenheimer and Mission Impossible will be released on VOD in October. Barbie should have taken more time.

But it's a genuine question. Has there been any WB film since covid that took more than 45 days for its home release?

Tenet maybe? I think that might be the only one.

Not that I think we need one but a Ken spinoff seems more logical from a storytelling perspective than a direct sequel. He’s always defined himself as Barbie’s boyfriend so what happens when he no longer doesn’t need to be.

Speaking of...

Dude takes over a city practically overnight.

Really gets into working out.

Has an affinity for big coats.

Totally gets friendzoned by the woman he loves.

I think we all know who I'm talking about here. :o
