I love Iron Man. I love Robert Downey Jr., I love Jon Favreau, I love Marvel, I love Iron Man. And i pee a little every time i think about this movie. Lets get that straight, K? K.

That being said, i definetly would just like to point out that marvel is cashing in on Batman Begins, if that makes sense. This Movie is going to be a lot like batman begins because of its success.
- Serious Ensemble cast of oscar nominees? Check.
- Promised serious/sophisticated/adult tone? Check.
- Playboy millionaire who makes weapons for the army and then uses them for himself? CHeck.
- Hero has a friend and they are both fighting a corporate system of a sort
etc.

The characters are just similar. Casino Royale wasn't cashing in on Batman Begins, and those characters are extremely similar.

To be fair... Iron Man's story has *always* been that he creates high-tech weapons for the army and then ultimately uses them for himself.

Nolan was the one who borrowed that idea for Batman to explain how Bruce Wayne gets all of his gear without anyone knowing who he is.

Well in truth, all movies in any particular genre do take & build on the success of films that went before. It's a natural evolution, we just have to hope that it's going in the right direction.

personaly i think tdk will knock it out of the park next year,its already ''into itsself'' story wise, i lov im and hope it will be phenominal, yet theirs so much
ground to estabilsh that the realy great storys(alcohalism,manderan,war machine)while with tdk we get:joker,scarecrow, riddler(tenative speculation)the birth of two face,the possible beginings of bruces madness

Sure there are plenty of similarities but there are enough differences that define the characters which separate them.

It's a fairly simple comparison to make isn't it? Both the Characters of Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark share similar properties in terms of wealth, secret identities, love of technology, and personal demons.

Iron Man has always kind of been viewed as the Marvel Batman (which amazes me that it isn't a better comic), though two completley different characters, but unless you where to change the story much of the stories would share similarities

outside of that, a serious enemble cast of oscar nominees could hardly be considered ripping off of Batman Begins, they are just trying to make the best movie they can, and the fact that Oscar winner's where interested means they are probably doing the right thing

favreau is a great chouce i think to direct. no biggie; this marvels version of batman n its just less famous.

IronMan is not Marvel's version of Batman. There are similarities, but there's more similarities with Howard Hughes than Bruce Wayne.
