Iron Man Shaun Toub cast in Iron Man

Shaun Toub (Crash, Broken Arrow) has been cast in Paramount’s Iron Man.


Toub joins Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jeff Bridges in Jon Favreau’s (Elf) big screen adaptation of the popular Marvel comic book series. I have no idea what role he will play.

Toub recently completed work in DreamWorks’ The Kite Runner, and will appear in this season of LOST.

Iron Man will begin production in March, aiming for a May 2nd 2008 release.

if he is and if he is Yin-sen and if the movie is based straight from the comic, then it'll be funny that both his character and Terrance Howards character never met in Crash and in the comics Yin-sen and Rhodey never met. So this could be the second movie he and Howard are in, but never meet.

Is it me, or does he kinda look like he could be playing Mandarin? Bridges just doesn't fit that role IMO.

Yin-Sen would indeed seem like the right choice for Toub...Though, there could be a chance that he'll go for another role in the film. Possibly even Mandarin.

I'm sure Shaun's just been cast as like the Leader of the terrorist camp Tony gets mixed up with when he's forced to build his Iron Man suit. Thats why hes not a big name actor (I doubt hes playing Mandarin for that reason as well)

As for Mandarin's casting, as long as its reasonably close to the comic book character, i'll be happy.

I would like to know how many pics Bridges was signed for. If it is all three than I believe he is Stane, however if it is just one then I Think he is the Manderian. Otherwise, I could see these guy as the Manderian easily.

Damn it people Jeff Bridges isn't the Mandarin. Do you realize how dumb that sounds? COME ON!!!

And yeah, this guy is almost definatley the guy who helps Tony build the suit. Either that or a random board member or something.

$5 says this guy is Raza, the lead insurgent who captures Stark. I'm still hoping for some stunt casting for the Yinsen role, someone like Omar Sharif t:

Side note: I hope people are still reading this thread. The episode of Lost this guy is in will be airing in the US on March 7th, it's a Sayid-episode. I'll try to post a reminder when the time nears.
