The Dark Knight Rises Bat-Weight... Bale will have to gain major weight again for BB3

Well after the Machinist he had like six weeks, right now he's about two years from filming Batman 3

Well, welterweights usually look muscular, but nowhere near Bat-muscular. Bale's gonna' look dehydrated for the role. Special diet, maybe. Boxing lessons, that would make sense. I'm sure his health is being monitored.

did anyone else feel underwhelmed when he took his top off in TDK? I don't mean it in a gay way but, in BB it was like whoa, thats how Batman should look and in TDK it was like WTF? :s

I just hope Bale is really well advised. Severe weight gaining and losing, specially in short periods of time, could be really dangerous.

I dont see this as a problem at all. He has already proven that he can change his weight quickly as well as adding muscle for roles. Bale will no doubt be in bat-shape for BB3

His hair has been thinned for the role (he's a drug addict)

Nah, it's shaved off in close ranges to match the character he's portrying.. you'll know if you see any Dicky Ecklund pics from 20 years ago.
And btw, Bale's physique made perfect sense for a logical Bruce Wayne after about a year in fighting crime day in day out.. And he skips meals as exemplified by the first scene in the batbunker. In BBegins he had about 5 years of training with Ducard (Ra's) and taking protein shakes and gaining mass. It would be unreal if Bruce Wayne kept the weight on despite missing meals and not getting enough sleep.

Besides, if anyone can put on weight it's Bale. No worries..

It's not bad as the Machinist role though, in that movie he wasn't so skinny that I thought he wouldn't have time make time for Batman Begins.

Do your arms hurt from all that reaching? That took effort! :funny:

The question is...will be still give his typical, patented, "Christian Bale" performance?

I often wonder about that. His characters have lacked charisma for years now, and he's never even approached his awesome portrayal of Bateman. What good is losing weight going to do if you're just going to stand there and read lines?

Under or over?

I thought he was great in Public Enemies and Rescue Dawn, by the way...before everyone jumps on me as a bale-hater.

I'm just hoping that if he loses the weight he's still going to give us a great character.
He lost the most weight for the Machinist but the performance was "meh" and so was the movie.

That makes sense but Bruce's character is all about being at tip top condition to fight crime and it seems to me that he would still work out and try and keep himself in good condition.

Wow, Publics Enemies will be in theaters on July 30th in my country, I didn2t know you already saw the movie.

I'm with you on this one.

But Bale will be back in shape soon enough. You could never pay me enough to do that to my body though.

I know exactly what you mean, but it did come off a bit gay haha. I agree though. He was too thin for Batman in TDK.

He's gonna wind up dead, I swear... Two major drops/gains in just a few years? Can't be good for you.

As long as he waits till after he finishes filming the last Batman movie.

Kidding. :hehe:

Christian bale is used to dropping and gaining weight, if you have a personal trainer it's not that hard.

he's done this before every batman film.

The Machinist > Batman Begins
Rescue Dawn > The Dark Knight
The Fighter > Bat 3 (hopefully)

there are ways to do this without a long term effect on your health, the worst that will happen is that he'll get very thick skinned later in life. This often happens to actors who fluctuate their weight quickly and drastically (Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro)

He will have no problem gaining the weight. There's no steroid testing for actors. Hense, Sly
