But shouldn't the bike like...I dunno...go faster?? It just doesn't strike me as being something that can take corners without hitting a telephone poll or smashing into the front window of the Gotham Bakery.

Somebody here was talking about a similar bike with big ass tires that can do corners really well, if I recall correctly.

Hah, it does look more like you steer by rotating your body around the frame. With just that though it'd only be good for a Nascar ring or something. The controls look like lawnmower handles, they must pull on the wheel arm to steer.

That thing looks.....weird. Not bad, not bad at all but...weird.

Doesn't look remotely comfortable to ride on, but I am sure it's going to create some interesting visuals.

That guy is smiling way too big for the way he is sitting

I really don't like the bike. Sorry but it doesn't look practical at all. and if you try to ride it in the rain with no fenders you'll be drowned.

I first thought that the dude riding the bike a couple posts up was Steve Carrell. Goofy looking dude. It looks cool, and really outlandish and futuristic, and makes me very happy that they didn't just go out and stick batfins on a ducati. And the best part is, it works. That's the best part about the Tumbler, not only does it look the part, but it works like a dream.

1) A bike expert has been riding the thing around test courses all last week, I'd say that, and reading the interview that they built this with functionality in mind, is enough to say this bike isn't as impractical as you might think it is.

2) Are we thinking of possible scenarios to break this thing? This is right up there with the whole sniper theory. Y'all taking this thing way too seriously. :o

This must be why they went to that racetrack in the middle of nowhere in Ireland

The Tumbler was a dead project at Wayne Enterprises. I don't know that they'd suddenly re-engineer it to make a motorcycle come out of it. I think it was probably BUILT by Wayne Enterprises - stupid corporations cheaping out and reusing parts they already have in stock (tumbler tires)...

It looks... interesting. Seeing Meredith Vieira sit on it made the body look a little insubstantial (but really long with ginormous tires). Perhaps it has some sort of retractable protective shield? I don't think we'll know more until we learn of Wayne Enterprises' purpose for it (which I don't want to know until I'm watching the film).

It's very cool but the one thing I'm not overly thrilled about are the massive guns on the front. Guns just aren't batman's style. Rocket launchers I could handle (a la the Tumbler) but guns I'm not feeling.

Looking forward to getting a better glimpse of this. I remember the first tumbler pictures were really dark like that as well and then we were floored when we saw it in full light.

I'd need to see it in action to believe that it actually handled as well as a real motorcycle. I'm guessing that it probably doesn't, but I could be wrong.
Looks almost to me like it was designed more to be similar to the tumbler and perhaps with the "toy" in mind. We all know that the RC motorcycles and such are prone to falling over.

Of course using movie magic it'll handle like a dream but in the real world I'd bet it sucks eggs.

Am I crazy?

I absolutely love the bat-cycle especially with the high res shots and NY TDK licensing show pics.

It just seems a lot of people either hate it or only think it is average :(

Sucks to be easily impressed?

Slightly above average at the moment thought I reserve the right to change said opinion upon further evidence ;)

the MOTO is cool but the name the batpod WTF? Asbro for the suit , Steve Job for the motorcycle!:woot:

Cool. Bat's cape is going to be caught on the wheels and he's going to die Isadora Duncan-style.

I think the idea that the bike doesn't function fully (which is to say it isn't fast enough or can't take corners) is unlikely. After all, the philosophy with the batmobile was "build it so it works" rather than using "movie magic," so I expect the same is true of the bike.

Why Hollywood NEEDs to change the look of everything for a movie? I think THIS is proof that a competent designer can turn ANY cartoon-like thing and bring it to real life without emasculating the concept.

Do you have a bigger pic? I don't think I can see the fabric molecules on the seats.
