So figured i'd post this in here because the film coincides with the Dark KNight movie. Sorry (and would appreciate a move) if this isn't the right place for this post.

Anyway, I'm a film student in New York who recieved an assignment to do a short film. I figured what a better way to show my love for the new movie than to make a film.

I'm really really happy with Ledger's performance as the Joker in the new film, so this perticular short film of mine is about a lonley guy who decides that he wants to join a certain someone's cause.

Well as we know theres no real application for this certain someone's group (wink) so our main character decides to make a home movie to catalogue his actions hoping that they will help him be recruited. Things go from there.

I've gotten praise so far :applaud: for the acting and camera work from classmates and friends alike, but I wanna see how fans feel about it.

The video is in the final stages of editing so it'll be up soon! :hoboj:

Sorry to keep you guys waiting but the film is finally finished! Turning in a couple late homeworks and such has gotten me clinged up at school. Anywho, I plan to upload the video tonight!

Sadly however I haven't been on forums in the longest time so I'll be posting a link to the movie on youtube. I've gotten positive comments so far so I hope everyone here enjoys.

For Heath!

gasp! Replies! Well this is getting rediculous but ill post it right after a business call. Had a big job interview yesterday, been quite busy. I just have to add a titile screen.

In the meantime I'll give you guys the rundown.

The film follows a guy who basically lost his mind and hopes to join the Joker in his quest for societal perfection :). He uses a camera to document his deeds but in the end things go a little crazy for him.

The quality is kinda cruddy but waddya expect, its a film done for fun.

Again, I'll be posting it after the call at 9:45. Ill throw it up (the link to the youtube link at least).

ARRRRG! Stupid youtube canceled the upload process cause it was deemed too long.....ITS 11 MINUTES >.<! So what should I cut here guys? If I dont hear anything I'll just chop the intro.

Could you post it in two videos, perhaps? I *really* want to see this. And if possible, uncut.

Hmmm well the predicament is this:

The intro, if cut, would be enough to throw it on youtube without hassle (becase there's a fade out after the intro)

Same goes for the extended ending. After a couple more minutes I'll throw it up in both modes if people dont post more!

Please throw it up. I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself, and I love student films.

ESPECIALLY student films about Batman and/or The Joker.

K I'm throwin it up now. I split the movie into two parts. I think it works a little better than when it was first edited seeing as how it kinda throws some time between watching the two parts.....you'll see what I mean when we get to it.

as of right now the video is online on youtube under the titles The Punch Line part 1 and part 2 respectively, HOWEVER, I don't think they have been processed yet becuase every time I click to watch them its just a black screen. the audio is there, but the picture isnt.

I've already had to reformat the video once and I've been through the download process 10 times now. I'll wait a bit to see if the video pops up, and then if not ill switch it over to mjpeg and make it into that.

mk, everything has been reformatted and is being uploaded to youtube for the unteenth time. Hope everything goes well this time! :hoboj:

That was great. I friggin' loved the reveal. Nice use of music. In all honesty, it was a bit more light-hearted than I was expecting, but overall you did great. 4 out of 5.

I liked the interpretation of the Joker, my only critisism is that when The Joker didnt show his face there were certain scenes in which his face was revealed a bit without his make up on..so it kinda ruined it a bit, but besides that it was terrific! :D

^^
Dude that wasn't the Joker. It was a man pushed over the edge. A man that idolized Joker and idealized his beliefs.

Like an extreme version of my self.

BTW, when I said it was a little light-hearted, what I meant was that it was Joker-like in all aspects, but lacked both a certain... sadistic feel, and also sense of an overall plan. I know it wasn't Mr. J himself, but the key to Joker is that there's almost always a method to his madness. To the public, he's committing random acts of violence, but to himself, everything serves a purpose.

I believe that could have been addressed by having the goon-to-be address the Joker through the camera. And as for the violence, school projects are not the best place to express those actions...

anyway, great camera work, especially the scene with the man character dancing down the hall, knife in hand. Again, 4 out of 5.

Sadly, this follows the same pattern as the majority of other fan-films.
Nice attempt though.

it combined a nicholson's voice with ledgers style, which makes no sense at all...
it was alright not the greatest, i've made a couple of these joker fanfilms myself, someof them are okay but it's hard to portay the joker, you really need to find some one unique in casting him. like i use myself becuz i can't really find anyone else who can... did you play the joker?? or did you cast him??
