GIMME!!!!!! :wow: :wow: :wow: :hrt: :hrt: :hrt:

Nightwing is awesome. I just played the first 3 combat challenge maps and the first predator challenge with him, as well as the Wayne Manor Armory. Love his combat style and the difference between his detective mode and Batman's and Robin's. I only wish he had a glide capability like BTAS Nightwing did with the underarm glider thing. It will be interesting to see what Batman Beyond is like and if they made it just a skin or have added animations for it(underarm gliders, rocket boots) and his own gadgets.

What did everybody think of Catwoman's line about Ivy?

"Good girl. I can always count on you to make the earth move."

How well do they know each other..?

Catwoman seems to know the villains pretty well. After the epilogue, you get to have her interact with the other rogues if you wish. She seems fine in asking them for help when she needs an extra hand to do something, if the vault scene is anything to go by (or when she visits Mr. Freeze later). I'm guessing that with Ivy and Catwoman, there's this vitriolic, twisted, sort of companionship? There's got to be a reason why she chose her out of all villains she thought about, especially if she had a great grudge against her for the death of her poor plant babies.

I kind of liked it. But then again, I support the whole Kitty/Ivy/Harley trio.

Where exactly is Black Mask in this game? I've beaten story mode and all side missions, only to receive a character trophy of him.

He's in The Robin DLC pack two campaign challenge maps Black Mask hideout in Sions Industries warehouse (Predator) and Freight Train (Combat)

I been listening to Arkham City OST by Nick Arundel. From start to finish: amazing! it feels like movie score than a game score. As anyone bought it yet?

Yeah I bought it off of iTunes, excellent score IMO.

Indeed. I like how they sort of went in another direction, and didn't give us the exact same thing. Case in point the main theme. Although I like AA's dark, dreary effort more the new version is epic. On the whole, I appreciate how these scores have the distinguishable Zimmer sound, but swirling over the top of it is the haunting choir, much like Elfman's Batman Returns.

Does any of the deaths in this game carry any emotional resonance considering there is conveniently a Lazarus pit right under Gotham city?

^ That is a good article. I feel Scarecrow is going to come back in a really big way in Arkham 3. Like, some enormously powerful acid trip plume covering all of Gotham ala BB or something. And Robin DLC is now available to download. I'm going to do so later on. Looking forward to playing as him actually.

He is also in the beginning of the game: when Bruce is being led to the exit of the Wonder Tower complex, take a look to the right wall facing the two lines: Black Mask can be seen fighting, and later being savagely beaten by the guards.

Oh plz I just wantz more of teh Mad Hatter!!!!!111

Looks nice. I don't think the guards have infiltrated the cave, per se story wise. I mean, they're in there, but more in the sense it'll be the same style thing ala the other challenge maps but in a different environment.

Just beat it a few minutes ago. I liked it a lot, but I felt the boss fights were much easier this time around. It's hard for me to know if I liked it more than AA, because some times I did, and other times, not as much. Overall, I think they're both on the same level. I loved seeing Penguin. Probably my favorite person in the game.

There was stuff I preferred in AA, and a month later after AC has been out and I've played it 5 times now and had time to let it really sink in, I'm thinking I might like AA a bit more overall. What I didn't like about AC was:

- Too many distractions with the side missions that had nothing to do with the main story. I liked the more linear format of AA.
- Two Face and Hugo Strange were so under used. Especially Hugo who I thought was supposed to be the main baddie, and we only saw him at the start and at the end. You couldn't escape the specter of Joker in AA. He was everywhere. Whether popping up in random levels to cause mischief or being on the Arkham monitors taunting you all through the game. Plus Hugo did sod all in his final scenes except just stand behind a glass panel talking crap. To make things worse we find out he's just a "puppet" to Ra's.
- The Ra's Al Ghul stuff felt out of place in the gritty style of Arkham City. Especially that desert level. Frankly I wish Ra's and Talia had not been in it at all.
- I enjoyed playing as Catwoman, but her levels, like the side missions didn't have any part in the main story.
- The main story itself kind of fell apart in the third act once protocol 10 started happening.

What I liked:

- Joker, Penguin and Mr. Freeze were all fantastic. Particularly the Penguin who was a really vile piece of work and his museum level was so much fun to do.
- The atmosphere of Arkham City, especially in the snow. I find myself popping in the game just to glide all over Gotham's breath taking visuals.
- The combat was much better and the new gadgets were terrific.
- Grapple boost gliding was awesomeness.
- The voice acting, apart from the guy who did Ra's, was all spot on. Especially impressed with Tara Strong who did a damn good impression of Arleen Sorkin for Harley Quinn.
- The Mad Hatter side mission was the brilliant and the best of all the side missions.
- The score for the game was great.

Overall I love Arkham City, but I think I prefer AA more. AA had a more linear format which I enjoyed better. With AC you could veer off for hours just doing side missions that have sod all to do with the main objective. The story was better in AA and felt more organic. Not one villain featured in AA felt unnecessary, whereas AC suffered from a villain over load, and several of them, like Two Face and Strange, suffered because of that.

Agreed. Protocol 10 was a let down and felt glossed over, just blowing stuff up. Apart from his limited screentime, I'm disappointed Hugo knowing Batman's identity wasn't explored in greater depth. It presented as a bigger factor in the lead in trailers, and at the start of the game. However I positively loved the ending segment with Joker at the cinema.

Mad Hatter was the only actual side mission I did during the main storyline. The rest I waited to do after I finished the storyline. I imagine it DEF would muddle the story to have to wait during certain storylines to do side missions. But at the same time if you wait to do them afterwards like I did, it can seem a big strange because during the side missions they talk about people like Hugo Strange and say stuff that have to do with the main storyline.

I've only played through the game once, school and work keep me from revisiting it but I will get around to it again. I also agree with Joker that Hugo Strange and Two Face were underused. Two Face was basically just a cameo and Hugo Strange did almost nothing. The Joker felt like the main villain again. BUT I did prefer this one to AA. Overall I loved it, very interactive world with lots of great gadgets and other cool stuff.

There's one part that annoyed me in AA, and they did the opposite in AC but it still annoyed me lol. In Arkham, once you finish the main campaign, you can walk around the island but there's nobody else to beat up because the characters dont regenerate. That made it boring. But in AC on the other hand, just about every character regenerates. I glided on a rooftop and took down about 5 armed goons and then I left the scene, came right back about 10 minutes later and all of the goons completely regenerated. You have to keep killing them(or smashing them) over and over and over cause they always keep coming back lol

Anyone else think or hope that we'll get any other DLC Batman suits? Or are we only getting what weve seen so far?

There's a Batman Inc. suit on the way. http://arkhamcity.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9072

The other existing skins (1970s, Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, Earth One, Batman Beyond, Sinestro Corps, The Animated Series) are all now available to download.

I guess I didn't understand Strange's role in all this. He basically set up an interment camp that housed all of the criminals of Gotham, then tried to kill them with Protocol 10. What he stood to gain from that is unclear to me, because I don't see how he'd gain much support from the public after Protocol 10.

Ra's al Ghul's role seemed to be identical to the character's role in Batman Begins.
