Batman: Arkham Knight

I don't understand why you can't freeroam with the other characters. They made a great map, but it's useless once you finish the story. They could have saved themselves some trouble, forgotten about the AR/Arkham episodes crap and just given us freeroam with other characters (maybe with a motorcycle for the sidekicks). It would have been less work for them, while giving us more.

And why couldn't Robin and Nightwing use the Batmobile either? Robin's got every basic move Batman's got, thugs also seem to have dialogue for him too, and he's not like Catwoman where all his moveset is built around fighting robots or something specific.
Hackers have put him in no problem.

There's really no excuse.

they're focus was be the bat man and the rest of the bat family was most likely part of the reason they made a delay. They were overly focused on the bat mobile and people kept asking them about other features .

they added dual play as a feature to have them fight side by side each other cause they don't do muliti player and there was no plan for co-op(people freaked about their combo's being messed up) and unlike the bat mobile which they had to find and hire a specific dev that knew how to make both drive able levels etc . Which they made an overly big deal that he was their unsung hero((out side) with the exception to them in the work place .

the point is I think the bat family characters were what they were adding in while they were polishing the game. and it was a last minute awesome feature. Also Vic of EPN.TV asked produce Dax Gin that question about others like Nightwing driving the bat mobile which I remember showing V walzter (or someone like him) after I posted the video article. Dax said that only batman can drive the bat mobile cause it's about him . they never planned to take it further.

How ever the free roam could have been possible. it just never occurred to them (so far anyway). It's possible they might have it done with the remaster or have some other studio do it.

I mean the dual play mechanic is another reason they should've let Robin and Nightwing out! You'd get to use this big talked about feature even more.

like I said it was last minute surprise thing after they said they needed more time and they announced it later to everyone in the game industry.

they also have to clear stuff with the publisher too. it's ether it didn't occur to them and they did answer that when someone from the gamer news outlets from EPN.TV asked them about this .

atleast where the bat mobile was involved. I remember cause I put it up and it wasn't from any of the other gamer news sites.

Probably the best new feature they added for me, too bad it was underused.

The crime fighter challenge packs are pretty much a waste of time. It's just the same combat stuff we've done a million times with a blue force shield around the map.

It's almost astonishing how much Rocksteady and WB have managed to f*** this up. All they had to do was follow the pattern they'd established. That was it. The same thing the other games had done.

Instead we get immersion breaking blue shields that remove the atmosphere and block the site of the lovely city in the background. Instead we get AR challenges with only one setting, no ability to use multiple characters on then. Instead we get f****** tank battles.

I like the Batman & Robin map bc I liked the dual play between those 2....

But for ****'s sake, all we wanted was the same challenge maps as before with the ability to use multiple characters per map.

Maybe have some Batmobile along with Dual Play maps added but that's all.

Just give us the challenge maps we all wanted. Nobody wants challenge maps this way.

And **** whoever thought the Slumdog Billionaire map would be great. That **** was probably designed by Saten himself.

No it doesnt. I didnt feel Catwoman's inclusion in Arkham City made it any less of a Batman game. The MAIN story is all about Batman as the lead protagonist. Side quests and post-game exploration, shouldnt be limited to him and it really takes away from nothing at that point

Those blue walls are awful. Annoying, distracting and ruins the immersion.

The removal of challenge maps was such a huge blow to this game. Replay value dropped dramatically. I replayed the challenge maps in Asylum, City and Origins literally hundreds, if not thousands of times. What were they thinking?

Yup, its like they had a completely different mindset when they decided to do Arkham knight.

It makes no sense, they pretty much did the opposite of everything the fans wanted.

The fans wanted the batmobile to play a small part-they give us dozens of tank battles and force us to use it.
Fans wanted more Challenge maps- they gave us an awful AR challenge
Fans wanted the playable characters to be in free roam- of course we dont get that.

This game is seriously falling far from grace with each little add-on they give us, and it's a damn shame, it really is.
When I played Asylum, City and Origins for the first time, I didn't want to stop playing. Knight, I was looking in my game collection after the first hour. I can't call it a bad game, because it's not. It's just such a letdown. I think the overuse of the Batmobile and the all the weak side missions just sucked my investment dry, drip by drip. It lacked the full focus of the previous games in terms of the story, and I do blame the Batmobile for this.
And it also has something to do with the Arkham Knight and his army's inclusion. Not for this character, the Batmobile would've been pretty much redundant. The AK, his every little piece of design, was created, specifically, for the Batmobile to have a stronger purpose than what it should've had, and that pees me off.

The game - outside of DLC-is fine. The writing is top notch and the combat is fine. The DLC, however is the problem:
-I acquired the Harley/Red Hood missions through pre-order from Gamestop. However, the Batgirl one was overpriced. It should have been $3, as I beat it in less than an hour.
-The Burton Batmobile does not work well in the in-game map. They should have not included it, and lowered the price of the skin/challenge maps to 99c.
-I gave up on the Riddler campaign. I beat it in AC and AA, but, I became frustrated with how it was becoming a black hole for time: I was spending almost as much time working on it as the main game. Ugh.

I kind of feel like thats how it was for AC. I never beat it there either. There was so much to do which isnt necessarily a bad thing

It takes time, but I've beat all of the Riddler campaigns. I thought the one for Arkham Knight was pretty easy.

It's not the difficulty as much as I have a deficiency in patience, haha

Yeah.. They're just annoying time wise plus over half include the Batmobile.. So..

it does, because video games while in theory you have an infinite amount of time to replay the game. There is however a finite amount of memory you can allocate into a console game. To get more playable players you have to sacrifice some other aspect of gameplay. For example you'd have to homogenize Batman so all playable character can do what he does. Such as use all his gadgets and have all his moves. I like the other characters in the Bat family but none of them should be as badass as Batman.

The lack of combat maps really is baffling. Its funny, I remember in Arkham Asylum, I actually had SO much more fun going through the combat maps than I did going through the actual game itself. After I beat Asylum I didn't touch the game for months and then one day decided to try to combat maps and it was like a brand new experience with the game. Learning all the moves and spending hours trying to beat the Extreme maps. I had so much damn fun with those, and it sounds like the rest of you had similar experience. Idk why they would like that out???

I did eventually get 100%, but the Riddler trophies in AK were just absurd. Even though City had nearly twice as many they were at least fun and inventive and I actually looked forward to hunting for them. Knight’s were beyond tedious and took the concept of “What am I supposed to do here?” to horrifying new levels. Not to mention half of them required a Batmobile puzzle, which just made a painful process even more painful.

Not that there isn’t plenty to like about the game, but for some reason the bad points really stick out.

Allies are a big part of Batman...just as much as the Batmobile or the Batcave.
