Those are good suggestions too. That list wasn't meant to be exhaustive, just a few to open up the idea. Those Poison Ivy and Two Face stories were fantastic.

I came up with some ideas (some of which are admittedly wacky). All are open to suggestions/retractions/inquisitions, whatever. Send the hate mail to the usual address.

Most Seminal/Significant Batman Moment (The murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne would obviously be excluded)
Bane breaking his back
His falling out withDick Grayson
The death of Jason Todd

Revealing his identity to Catwoman
The Joker crippling Barbara Gordon
Being framed for the murder of Vesper Fairchild
Discovering that Jason Todd is alive
Trying to preserve Gotham during No Man's Land
Talia's revelation of Damien

Biggest Contribution to the Batman Mythos (minus Kane and Finger, of course)
Jerry Robinson
Julius Schwartz
Denny O'Neill
Frank Miller
Kevin Conroy
Jeph Loeb
Bruce Timm/Paul Dini collaboration
Adam West
Michael Keaton
Christian Bale

Best Bat Family Story

Robin: Year One
Robin: A Hero Reborn
Robin: Flying Solo
Nightwing: Year One
Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven
Nightwing/Huntress
Catwoman: When In Rome
Catwoman: Selina's Big Score

Best Notable Batman Quote (inclusive of all universes)
"Ladies. Gentlemen, You have eaten well. You have eaten Gotham's wealth. Its spirit. Your feast is nearly over. From this moment on...none of you are safe."
"I believe in Gotham City"
"Criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot, so my disguise must be able to strike terror into their hearts. I must be a creature of the night; black...terrible...."
"Quiet!, or papa spank!"
" I'm not going to kill you. I want you to do me a favor. I want you to tell all your friends about me. (What are you?!) ...I'm Batman"
"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can't do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man, I'm flesh and blood; I can be ignored, I can be destroyed. But as a symbol ...as a symbol, I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting."
"I am vengeance! I am the night! I am BATMAN!"
"What, are you dense? Are you ******ed or something? Who the hell you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman!"
"Tell everyone. All the punks, junkies, gunsels, enforcers... all the wise guys, leg-breakers, muscle boys... tell them they're finished. Tell them the streets belong to the Batman."
"Father... I'm afraid I may have to die tonight."
"You have a choice. You can crawl -- on your bellies -- and plead for her forgiveness. That's the first choice. The second is -- I hurt you. Choose one. Choose the second."
"Without warning it comes... crashing through the window of your study... and mine... I have seen it before... somewhere ...it frightened me... as a boy... frightened me... yes, Father. I shall become a bat."
"You can never escape me. Bullets don't harm me. Nothing harms me. But I know pain. I know pain. Sometimes I share it. With someone like you."
"I've been thinking lately; about you and me. About what's going to happen to us in the end. We're going to kill each other aren't we? Perhaps you'll kill me. Perhaps I'll kill you. Perhaps sooner. Perhaps later. I just wanted to know that I made a genuine attempt to talk things over and avert that outcome. Just once. Are you listening to me? It's life and death that I'm discussing here. Maybe my death, maybe yours. I don't fully understand why ours should be a such a fatal relationship, but I don't want your murder of my hands."
Swear to ME!

I like all those choices over the One-Shot choice.

Let's do 4 rounds in this order: Best Bat-Family Story, Most Sig. Moment, Most contributed person, quotes.

Superman: Speeding Bullets should be in the Batman elseworld part 2 and Batman GbG should be in to see if it holds up through two rounds.

Any other suggestions as to which of the new ideas with go with next or should I consult the tarot cards?

Your vote was accounted for in the New Ideas version 2.1 update. That's why I mentioned 'other'.

Wait ...are you trying to corrupt the delicate process of the selection system through repeated suggestions? :cmad:

Not saying it is over yet, only saying this because we are down to the last 2 nominations for the current round, but what will we do for the next round?

I for one would love to do the Most Significant Moment idea that Mister J came up with for the next round.

The next round will be a little more universal than the past couple of rounds. I know some voters have been disinterested because they weren't familiar with all the choices. Hopefully, it'll pick up a little.

Is that a yes or a no to the Most Significant Moment idea for the next round?

By the way, you should add Stephanie Brown's death to the list.

If you want to postpone that round than I suggestion doing the round for Biggest Contribution to the Batman Mythos (minus Kane and Finger, of course). Also, perhaps add to the list or have the starting points be different. I'm sure you remember those unique rounds that started off at 7, 5, etc.

It was a yes to Significant Moment round. I think those choices would be general enough so that they'd familiar to those are who aren't avid/longtime readers. Pretty much the same for the other newer ideas too. It only seems to be really a problem with some of the more obscure stories/trades.

I was rummaging around seeing if I could boost the list to 15.

The quote round is going to be great.

Can't wait

Just ran through the quotes again, and all are great, but I vote to include this one from Identity Crisis...

"I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either."

We should do the whole "who contributed the most to the bat mythos" round next. I think in that round after a few eliminations will be very hard to choose who to vote against next.

1. I haven't breathed oxygen in years.
2. As far as I can establish, I'm immortal, so yes, I'm alive.
3. I just got back in town late last night and had a small curiosity to this thing you mortals refer to as sleep.

Contributions Round coming shortly. :ninja:

Is there a reason Nolan, Burton, and (God forbid) Schumacher aren't on the list of contributors?

Hmm...well I guess you have a point there. But might want to refrain from adding Schumacher...because he would be there just to be there and be eliminated first; would be meaningless.

Yeah, I mean I definitely would get rid of him first. I was thinking to include him just for the sake of including him. But I guess since Kilmer and Clooney aren't (and shouldn't be on there), Schumacher shouldn't either.

Although I'd argue that Schumacher was more significant than we all believe. If it weren't for those two s****y movies, Begins would have NEVER been a possibility. :)
