Batman & Robin Novelization

Better.

In a word, better.

It's written by Jan Michaeal Friedman. He wisely races through the Looney Tunes action sequences, which are no much more elaborate than in the script.

He adds plenty of his own material, such as...

- A flashback to the Wayne's death - apparently it was during a blizzard, and it was Joe CHill who killed them, contradicting the previous movies
- Alfred discussing how emotionally cut-off young Bruce is to a psychologist
- Bruce meets Victor Fries when they are both young scholars, and Fries is a world-class athlete who Bruce learns from

I remember owning the novelization, but don't remember any of the contents. :| (If I ever got around to reading it)

It also included the corny parts that didnt make it into the film. Like where Batgirl says "Bam" "pow" "zap" when shes fighting. :\

The first 20 pages of this novel are AMAZING. So much better than the movie. It actually delves into the Wayne shootings, Alfred's character, Bruce and Victor as friends in college. Really well-written stuff. :wow:

Which fuels two theories. One that Schumacher's Barbie Doll Batman was realy pretty much a reboot (TF changing ethnicities is another strong argument), and/or that Joker really wasnt then killer but Bruce's mind was playing tricks on him, a very popular theory lately.

Or the novelization writer just did whatever he wanted to do in adapting the movie script for the book and no one at WB really paid attention.

Thats the most likely scenario, it still doesnt change the fact that for those who cant stand Schumacher's BarbieDoll Batman can use this as an argument for themselves to separate them from earlier movies
