Batman & Son, Assault on Arkham announced

The animation in these last few (post-TDKR) has been getting worse and worse, probably owing to each successive movie selling less copies. And the voice acting in Son of Batman was probably the worst of all of them, as well.

I hope when they do The Killing Joke they really put some money and effort back into it. The Dark Knight Returns adaptation showed they can still make a great one if they want to.

After Asault on Arkham and the JL:Throne of Atlantis adaptations, what Batman related project do you predict they'll do next? I wouldn't be surprised to see Forever Evil done in animated form. I haven't followed it much so I'll ask, do you think they could do it on one DTV or is it too complicated?

Yeah, it looks better than the last couple of movies.

I just really hoped that was gonna be CG animated to look closer to the games. The Arkham world has a certain feel to it, and it loses that in standard animation.

Why not? They make Resident Evil Movies out of CGI, and Final Fantasy.
They drop the ball on this, imo. A CGI Arkham movie could made them good money.

I would love to see them do something like The Long Halloween or Hush but I guess they are likely to do something more up to date like Court of Owls or Zero Year.

I bet you're right Hunter. Between Court of owls and year zero I bet they would go with the latter. Personally I would rather see an adaptation of court between the two.

By the way is year zero a particularly good Riddler story?

I personally think they'll continue Damien's story with the New 52 Batman movies.

That and Court of Owls seems like the most likely.

Years ago, I would have been excited about them tackling his run (esp. Rip.) Now, I want them to stay clear from it, so they don't end up mutilating it. It's sad. Out of the films recently, Son...was the only one I was disappointed with. Flashpoint Paradox was good, altho I could have gone without seeing Wonder Woman drag Mera's severed head around.

But yeah, I agree. I hope they stay away from Morrison stories if they won't adapt them properly.

I've not been favorable to any of the 'new wave' of these films (starting with The Flashpoint Paradox), so I'm hoping for a reversal of fortune here (and Throne of Atlantis). Decent opening scene though.

Out of the New 52 films, I enjoyed Flashpoint Paradox. It was a fascinating what-if. I'm probably going to rent the film when it hits digital retailers.

I have mixed views on Morrison's run. On the one hand, it gave us Damian (who I love) and some cool moments. On the other hand, I LOATHE what he did to Talia's character, I thought that the second volume of Batman Inc was not very good, and he pointlessly killed off the aforementioned little badass.

It seems like Arkham City's but it could be Arkham Asylum.
