I just finished reading this and I thought it was awesome. In my opinion its easily one of the top 5 batman stories ever written. It seems like its really underrated and doesnt get the respect it deserves. It was real good

I came out around 1988 and there were comparisons with Frank Miller's TDKR which was still fresh in people's minds, personally I liked it a lot and Bernie Wrightson's art is better than Miller's.

It's basically a rip-off of the first two parts of TDKR, and that's the reason I like it.

I dont see that. Can you please explain how?

The "talking heads", Batman against a "street army" with a brutal leader, Batman being defeated, Batman finally beats the guy. A lot of psychology and politics.

"The Cult" has always seemed to be a "spiritual sequel" to the TDKR, in my eyes.
