Issue 1 comes out next week and the Comics Continuum has posted a first look at issue 1 of Mad Monk.

Yes, what Batman says means this (& Monster Men) takes place directly after Year One.

Can't wait for this. Should be even better than Monster Men.

Looks freakin' awesome. I love Wagners pencils.

They should just let him keep doing miniseries like this with the early years of Batman. :batman:

Going by my calculations: January is when Issue 6, the last one, will be released.

Looks awesome

I love these minis that go back and recap the early days in Batman's career. I wish Marvel would do a few for Spidey as well.

There is a Spidey book (1 book) set in his early days thats comign our in either October or November.

But anyway, I wonder if after Mad Monk if theres going to be another mini-series after that.

I love the Batman Year One arc: YEAR ONE, MONSTER MEN, MAD MONK, MAN WHO LAUGHS, LONG HALLOWEEN & DARK VICTORY.

I still need to have the Monster Men (is the TPB out yet?) but this looks great. Wagner has a very nice style. It looks kinda like BTAS.

The TPB comes out next week.

And man, Monster Men was so good, I simply can't wait for this.

Yep, Monster Men tpb hits the same week as Mad Monk #1.

So Monster Men and this are Year One tales? If so,sweet.

The Wagner awesomeness begins again baby!!!

My comic shop guy looked at me like I was nuts when I mentioned this. :(

With this being "directly after Year One" does that mean it's official continuity?

I'm looking forward to this.
What should be the correct order for all of Batman's Year One stories?

Batman Year One
Batman And The Monk
Catwoman Year One
The Man Who Laughs
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Batman and The Monstermen
Shaman?

And where should Mat Wagner's Faces go? After Year two or three?

Is Year Two and Three still in continuity?

Your listing seems to be right. Save for Monster Men. That comes before Mad Monk, I think.

I believe Shaman takes place before Year One.

Shaman
Year One
Batman and the Monster Men
Batman and the Mad Monk
The Man Who Laughs
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory

Year Two and Three aren't in continuity any more. The Long Halloween and Dark Victory pretty much replaced them.

and the "Four of a kind"-stories?

and "gothic"?

is there a complete list of the graphic novels (in chronological order)?

I'm sure that it has been posted before, but here is the cover for #4.

I just read issue 1 of it. It was really great. Wagner does what he did in Monster Men, he brings us back to the early days of Batman's career and re-tells it with style.

The cracks are starting to appear in Bruce and Julie's relationship. As for the Monk, although he's not seen in this issue, whatever he's up to seems pretty sick.

Not to mention Wagner's art rules. Very noir and quite a few iconic Batman shots.

I won't review this, since I didn't do Monster Men, but I'll say I loved it. Since this is Dark Moon Rising, I wonder if theer will be a third storyline.
