The Dark Knight Rises Batman: War on Crime

So I was reading Dini & Ross' War on Crime yesterday (beautiful art and story if you haven't read it), and I was thinking, this would make a great subplot for the next movie. Of course, it wouldn't work as the main plot, b/c there are no major villians (or any for that matter, other than crime itself), but it would be a very touching storyline.

What do y'all think?

Hmm... What works in the comics doesnt necessarily work in the Nolan-verse.
The Batman-Helps-Wayward Orphaned Youth story could possibly be a scene, it'd be a little bit cloying as a sub-plot.

The "Bruce Wayne ruins corrupt businessman" segment COULD be used as a set up for Black Mask, though. That could be interesting...

By the way, If you liked WOC, you should check out JLA: Liberty And Justice... the same creative team, the same kind of thing but on a much wider, epic scale...

^^^i see what you mean. i didn't mean adapt it frame for frame, but use it as part of the story.

yeah, i have the JLA story. i have them all in the book, The World's Greatest Superheroes.

I've been so happy with Begins and Dark Knight but if I have a a gripe its that you dont have Batman stopping any crimes that arent centrally tied in to the story or the main players.... at the beginning of TDK its implied that criminals are afraid because the batman might be watching but i would LOVEEE to see some random muggings/murders being stopped in the next one ala spiderman, or superman the movie (also show batman going completely kung fu master on a bunch of random thugs)... ok i'm done.

Have the third film open with Batman averting a shotgun toting robber in a convenience store...only to have the store clerk run out of the shop, catch a pair of street cops and ask for help...not with the thief, but with Batman.

Now that Batman has been declared a public enemy, I think it should be established early on that most citizens would side with the police and try to turn Batman in if given the chance.
