Fantasy Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice returns!

It's a good thing this movie didn't go directly to streaming, which was the plan at some point, I think.

WB will definitely be thinking about a third one... but I think Burton might put his foot down and refuse.

They all got away with this one (and I certainly loved it), but I think they should take their flowers and run.

Small drop this weekend too only 38%.

Of course with that kind of momentum, WB will release this streaming in 2 weeks lol

WB gonna WB.

And yes, they’ll definitely be pushing for a third. I don’t think Burton will do it but he may end up producing it for a new director. Although, I doubt Michael Keaton would return without him. Is Andy Muschietti waiting by the phone? lol

He is. And I didn't notice while watching it which is a testament to Keaton and Burton, but he is.

In the original, he's loud, quick to anger, stomps and throws a tantrum now and then, constantly 'anxious', etc. In the first film, he throws Otho down the stairs, drops Charles off a railing, and terrorizes as a snake. He is always scheming.

Here he's kinda...malevolent in comparison. Definitely much calmer.
In the first film he doesn't really have a defined goal until the third act. Here he's scheming, but the scheme is one we're aware of.

My favorite thing about the climax is just how much the guy who's been trying to appeal to Lydia, is just so... Beetlejuice.

Comes out digitally next week. But I think the Halloween season will keep people going to the theater.

I still think they could have squeezed more out of the box office throughout October, but I guess this is how WB do things now.

Digital: 8th October
Blu-Ray/4K: 19th November

Special Features:
  • Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Commentary by director Tim Burton
  • The Juice is Loose! The Making of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
  • The Ghost with the Most: Beetlejuice Returns
  • Meet the Deetz
  • Handbook for the Recently Deceased
  • Shrinkers, Shrinkers Everywhere!
  • An Animated Afterlife: The Stop-Motion Art of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
  • ‘Til Death Do Us Park

Digital doesn't hurt nearly as much as one might expect. Though it is still very early. I think they're getting to 300m domestic unless something drastically changes with how digital releases have effected bigger movies in the past.

Yeah, I expect it to pass Dune Part Two to become WB’s top grossing film of the year domestically. I can’t see anything else from WB coming out this year to challenge that.

You don't think Joker 2 has a shot domestically?

Dune Part Two made $82 million in its opening weekend, and Joker 2 is tracking to open lower at $55 to $60 million. So if that comes to pass... not likely?

Oh wow... I had no idea. I thought the projection was around $120 million last I checked. Although I guess that was a month or so ago.

Yeah, the collapse in tracking has been shocking. And WOM is looking to be toxic. Probably will struggle to 150m.

Domestic: $265.5
International: $137.1

Worldwide: $402.6

If exhibitors keep the movie going for spooky season over the next few weeks, pundits are predicting a $440-460M worldwide run. It has been a fantastic hit in the US, UK/Ireland and Australia, with tremendous legs. A shame other territories didn't feel it as much, but the original was never really a thing in those places to begin with.

This is a BIG win for WB and sorely needed after the debacle with Joker 2.

Just have to wait for it to pass Dune: Part II now to become WB's highest grossing movie of the year domestically.

Finally saw this. I had fun with it but it felt like they put two or three films worth of plot points into one film. Tonally, it felt somewhere between the original film and the animated series which was a nice balance for me. I'm sitting somewhere between a 7 and an 8 on visuals and tone alone, but that screenplay is ****ing rough.

Looking like another strong with with a 30ish% drop for another 7m. Might even beat Joker. VOD release not keeping people from the theater during spooky month.

gave my niece a Funko Pop of Astrid she loved it as she is a fan of Jenna ever since she saw her in Wednesday (she has a funko of her too as well as a cute plushie).
