Days of Future Past Benjamin Walker is cast as Hank McCoy!

I am seeing his show on Wednesday so maybe I will stage door and ask him about it.

Just yell out HANK McCOY! and see if he turns around.

Then say, "Gotcha."

I am pleased with this. And the fact that I have never heard of him makes the deal all the more sweeter.

I just hope Matthew V. does not insist on the "Cat Beast" like he did while prepping X3. And with Spectral Motion onboard, I assume we will be getting something more than just a human looking Beast.

Well, uh, Spectral Motion specializes in much more than making Beastly characters from comic books.. :p

I don't think there's a strong enough correlation to make such an assumption. :D

Actually, between two Hellboys, two FF's, Blade 3 and X-3, "beastly" comic book characters is what they seem to specialize in.

But I do agree that just because they are on board does not assure a furry Beast. But given that a furry Beast has been rumored for this project for years [even back when it was called 'Magneto'] and that a furry Beast was going to be in the Jean flashback sequence in X3 - I would say things look pretty positive that that is what we will get.

Time will tell...

Are they following continuity with the Singer films? If I remember correctly, Beast did go the the school in his younger years no?

I'm might be seeing Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson tomorrow.

I can definitely see him as Hank, but I hope that whatever incarnation of the character we get, they at least build up to him being blue in some way. If nothing else, it'll save the internet community from having to hear "wait, how is he white if he's blue in X3?", like with Sabretooth's portrayal in X-Men Origins, as opposed to what we saw later. Just build towards bridging that gap and all should be fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I would prefer Hank to stay in human mode for this movie and let him transform in the sequel..

I wonder how far they'll go to give Hank his ape-like limbs..

So is this a prequel to the x-men movies or something new based on the young x-men?

...since we have a young Magneto and Prof. X, I would say it's a prequel...

Just got back from seeing Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Ben Walker is just fantastic. I was hoping to see him after the show, but I didn't get to stage door. Either way, Walker is an inspired choice for Hank McCoy. I have no doubt he'll be superb in First Class. And, he's gorgeous, so plus one for that! ;)

I didn't realize he did standup! He's extremely good WTF!

His interaction with the audience members made his act.

He's as good as any upcoming comedian out there, IMO.

Hopefully this will mean a quick-witted Hank McCoy for us
