Best Blockbuster of the 70's! - Nominations Thread

Simple premise, nominate 3 movies from the 70's that you feel are contender's to be the best blockbuster of that decade and on Monday I'll put the 10 most nominated in a poll. This decade is very much aesthetically different to the ones that followed so I think this works as a stand alone.

Okay, here we go, the biggie.

So first choice has to be Jaws because it spawned the concept and delivery of the summer Blockbuster, and catapulted Spielberg upwards.

1) Jaws (1975)

2) Star Wars : A New Hope : Episode IV (1977)

It changed cinema as we knew it then, as we know it now. It defines time itself.

3) Superman The Movie (1978)

My favourite CBM ever and the film that is still held as the genre template.

Each of these have childhood resonance held and define my 70's childhood.
