So what are the best downloadable games? I got microsoft points for the first time and I wanna get some good classic games. I want anything really, as long as its high quality. Platform, adventure, action, rpg.

My favorites are Pacman: Championship Edition, Rez HD, N+, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Puzzle Quest.

Also you can download Aegis Wing for free. Not a bad game for such a nonexistant price.

I'm kinda disappointed in the selection.

I downloaded one of the Castlevania games. They need to get Turtles In Time on there.

Yeah, it's got plenty of good shooters that people like, Geometry Wars, Ikaruga, etc.. But, I'm not really into top-down shooters.

I've only downloaded
Doom
Bankshot Billiards
Zuma
Penny Arcade
Ninja Gaiden Black

I hope XBLA starts getting a little more creative. The PSN games shown at E3 were much more interesting. At least the original Banjo Kazooie is going to be coming to XBLA, that'll be awesome.

Aegis Wing is pimp  and its free

TMNT 89

Streets of Rage 2...although there is NEVER anyone online to play it co-op, seems like people just play it for the singleplayer.:csad:

I agree wholeheartedly. The PSN segement of Sony's presser was one of my favorite things of E3 so far.

I would love to see more "bite size" games from established and new franchises alike. Shorter games of roughly the same quality as their "big brothers" for a cheaper price.

I think a lot game studios could really benefit from that.

Even the silly games like the Kung Fu Ragdoll, and that one where you hurl the guy and see what he hits. Those are the kinds of games I want on XBLA, fun diverse games, not top down shooter after top down shooter after puzzle game.

What kind of half-assed version of Golden Axe is this?? This is like, half the game. Seriously.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Golden Axe
Double Dragon

Guys, get UNO, it's like the best game on the arcade for multliplayer.

The single best game on the XBLA, in fact, one of the best games from last year....Puzzle Quest.

Then you have Penny Arcade, Castlevania, Ikaruga, and Commanders: Attack of the Genos.

Castlevania: SOTN
Sonic 1 & 2
Metal Slug
Uno
Street Fighter 2 Turbo

These would be my top few, however TMNT and Mortal Kombat 3 get a play here and there.

I should probably add that there are the Old School Xbox games available to download as well although the list isn't that huge. Although in further news Jade Empire has just made it on to the Xbox Originals @ 1500 credits

Tomorrow we will see the release of the expansion pack to Puzzle Quest :D

...oh yeah, and 1942 ;)

If, by some bizarre set of circumstances, the homebrew masterpiece called Cave Story

became available on Live Arcade, I'd say that.

Since it's not, Penny Arcade Episode 1, Rez, Castlevania, N+, Marathon: Durandal, Alien Hominid

So I downloaded Golden Axe on the Wii.

Golden Axe on the Wii is the complete version of the game. It has different music, different enemy placements, more levels, and more modes than the version that is on the 360.

Don't get Golden Axe on the 360. It's some sort of half assed version.

Golden Axe on Live Arcade is the arcade version.

The one on Wii is the one from the Sega Genesis

Oh wtf noone mentioned Geometry Wars??? The second one is already out.

Heavy Weapon is a great game as well.

N+ is a masterpiece

Braid is great but short

TMNT 89 is classic

Geometry Wars 2 looks fun, but I haven't given it a try yet.
