I don't think there's been a thread about this. But what do you think are the best film scores of 2011?

John Williams work in War Horse was pretty solid. One of his best scores in a while.

Hugo
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1
The Adventures of Tintin
Water for Elephants
War Horse

Captain America
Tintin
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Drive

Hmmm, I wish I paid a little bit more attention to the scores themselves, especially for those movies released early in the year, but..

Some of the most memorable scores this year I think:

Tree of Life
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
The Muppets
Hugo
War Horse
Super 8
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Hanna
Source Code
Drive
Skin I Live In
The Adventures of Tintin
Contagion
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. II

The ones that come to mind for me:

Super 8
Jane Eyre
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Drive
Hugo
Captain America: The First Avenger
X-Men: First Class

Shame

Drive, Midnight in Paris, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and X-Men: First Class

Hanna
Drive
Thor
X-Men: First Class
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Hanna and Drive stick out the most.

Drive
Hanna
War Horse

those really stood out to me.

Drive
Another Earth
Sucker Punch
Hanna
Midnight in Paris
Girl with the dragon tattoo
Water for Elephants

I think the score by Antonio Pinto for "Senna" deserves a mention.

When matched with the footage in the film it's beautiful.

Drive, Midnight in Paris, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and X-Men: First Class

Midnight in Paris doesn't have any kind of score. Woody Allen just licenses songs and cuts them into the film.

We're talking film score, not soundtrack.

Drive
Deathly Hallows 2
Sherlock 2
Mission Impossible 4
Water For Elephants

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Super 8

X-Men: First Class

Warrior

Only two coming to mind right now, Drive and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

No love for Elfman's Real Steel. I believe that's one of the best scores of 2011. It also has one of the best tracks of 2011.

Captain America had a really awesome score. It's the only one out of all the movies I've seen from last year, where I can remember some of it.
