Ah, Spiderman 1 for me was good but too generic and predictable. I can put SR over Spiderman 1 easily. Now for different reasons I have to put SR and Spiderman 2 on the same rate.

Yeah, that too. It was definitely a scene so full of subtext, like the whole movie.

Other than the action, which is good, I just find those movies ok. Honestly. I say it, in a friendly way, I like you as a poster and don't want you to get upset with me. To me the Spidey movies are too simplistic and kinda cartoony and childish, and that's why they made so much $, kids loved them. Sorry, I just can't see what's so awesome about them.
SR, on the other hand is more mature, epic, and compelling, IMO. It's on another level. Please don't hate me. :O

Now, the first 2 X-Men movies are really good, and more accord to my tastes.

 Ah, my heroin (not the drug).

I can be both.. :cwink:

:D

... aaaaand on the movies, well, that's fine, it's just a matter of taste really, Spidey 2 has some cool moments indeed, I just totally dislike the storytelling style in some parts, too self-aware and predictable, like the speech aunt May gives to Peter... way cheesy.

I prefer the first 2 Spidey movies over SR. But I do pick SR over SM3. ;)

OH MY GOD I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!:oldrazz:

Just kidding, i see what you mean about the Spiderman movies, and in some cases i would agree about them being cartoony and childish, but with all 3 movies, i feel they get suitably mature when they need too, and being a Spiderman fan a lot longer than i have a Superman fan, the first 2 movies i find incredibly awesome, i even like 3 to an extent also.

Yet i also agree about SR and the first 2 X-Men movies, all 3 of which are great and more mature, serious movies than the Spiderman movies. This is probably because Singer as a director is more mature than Raimi when it comes to film-making, Singer does drama better, but Raimi probably has him beat when it comes to action scene's, at least in most cases. Also to be fair to Raimi, Spiderman isnt as mature a character as Superman or the X-Men, he is a teenager after all, were as all the others are grown up.

I like both directors, for different reasons, and i find SR to be a better movie than Spidey 1 and 3, but Spiderman 2 is an absolute classic IMO, a superb movie that does everything right, and its just a bit better than SR for me. Only Batman Begins and X2 respectively are better than Spidey 2 IMO.

I love Spidey 1, but SR is the better movie. I cant put SR above Spidey 2 though, Spidey 2 is just slightly better to me, though MOS could be better than both combined.

:woot:^^Thank you, Aveit! I knew you'd understand.

And fair enough, you like it and that's it. But I wouldn't consider that or the other movies you mentioned to be 'perfect.' IMO, they are not. Heck, not even SR or STM, my favorite superhero movies, are totally perfect. There is room for improvement, I think.

have a nice weekend!

Oh, and I also will never understand how come that Pirates movie did so much $. I found it soo boring! I even fell asleep for a minute or two, lol.

Oh i wouldnt call Spidey 2 perfect, there is not a movie in existence that is perfect, nor will there ever be, but i just love the movie, it contains everything i love and have always loved about Spiderman. JUST above SR for me.

I had a bit of a boring one but thanks for the wishes anyway! :cwink:

POTC 2 wasnt a bad movie, or just want particularly good, and it suffers on repeat viewings greatly, which is why i'm surprised people kept going back to see it.

Same here. I prefer SM2 over SR, but I surely as hell prefer SR over SM3. :D

^Yeah, i actually like SM3, i think its an entertaining movie and not as bad as some make it out to be, but compared to SR, and the first 2 Spiderman movies, it just doesnt hold up, nor does it have the quality or storytelling of those 3 movies.

bump! :word: I like this thread a lot....the 'original subject'... and I don't want it to disappear.

Another scene that I love from SR is all the facial expresions Clark (Brandon) does in Perry's office when Lois says that 'Superman was so busy saving that hooker.' LOL, :oldrazz: I think she is jeolous and wishes she could be in Kitty's place......who wouldn't...:woot:

Yeah, Brandon's facial expressions in that scene are great, IMO! I especially loved the way he responds to Jimmy when he asks Clark 'how pissed do you think this make Superman' (or something like that, lol), and Clark answers 'a lot.' I love the delivery! Very good comedic timing by Brandon, imo.

I always laugh at that bit, i think the look Clark gives Jimmy is priceless, and its a nice little comedic moment. I thought the majority of comedic moments were great in the movie.

Basically, thats what i love about this movie the most, the NON-ACTION scene's, i love the interactions between the characters, especially Lois, Clark and Superman. It what gives the movie its heart and emotion and what makes it, for me, one of the best CB movies ever.

Yeah, I love the scene on the DP rooftop, and Superman flying with Lois. That "Romantic Flight" surpasses the one in STM, IMO.

What ruins the STM flight scene was Margot Kidder's voice reading poetry all over it.

Agreed, i like the fact that the scene told us a lot without the 2 actors saying much, this is the scene were Lois becomes more sympathetic towards Superman, after he tells her he hears everything and apologises.

I also love the scene were she flies past her house, looks at it, then looks at Superman, its like there are 2 paths she can take in her life and she just cant decide which one to walk down, brilliant.

I liked how there was some Jung/Freud subtext with the flying, when she looks at her house and then she looks back at him. Jungian as in "breaking free" from her current life and Freudian as in...Erm, having sex :o

The Best scene in the movie for me was the Sun Recharge. That was the most beautiful thing I'v ever seen on screen! The music, Routh's expression, everything about the scene was epic!

How come there isn't a choice for "none of the above, or anything else, for that matter". Superman 5 sucked Kryptonuts.

Yeah, it was basically the 2 lives Lois wanted to live right in front of her, the way she looks at both tells you she wants both, but by the end of the flight, she clearly hasnt decided yet, as evidenced by her pulling away from a kiss with Superman. Its a great sequence altogether.

Agreed, possibly my favourite scene in any comicbook movie, epic poetic, and one of the best hero comeback scene's easily.
