Best Season Finales Ever?

What are the best season finales you have ever seen?

First thing I think of is Season 3 of Lost. Left me stunned and jumping up and down at the same time.

Also, Scrubs series finale. Season 8's. So good.

The first that comes to mind for me would be Star Trek TNG Season 3's it was really one of the first big cliff hanger endings in that manner to me. Picard being assimilated by the Borg, I remember I was shocked.

Also I would say the "Series finales" of TNG and DS9 were some of the best as well.

Lost Season 1 still gives me goosebumps. I remember how much speculation occurred.

Also I would say Game of Thrones Season 1 too.

The Wire Season 4 ending "Final Grades". Best show ever, best season ever, and it's really the shows climax considering how much season 5 dropped off.

Arrested Development - "Righteous Brothers" (S2)

Rome - "Kalends of February" (S1)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - "Restless" (S4), "The Gift" (S5)...honestly, that show rocked at finales. Almost any of them could qualify.

Damages - "Because I Know Patty" (S1)

Mad Men - "Shut the Door. Have a Seat." (S3)

Breaking Bad - "Face Off" (S4)

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER:
Season 5 Finale, Season 7 Finale
(The fifth season ended with an amazing epic battle, and overwhelmingly emotional punch to the gut) (Season 7 finale was just everything you wanted. Main characters died, epic, I mean EPIC battle, and great emotions all over the place)

LOST:
Season 1, 2, 3 Finales
(The first three seasons ended with some of the best finales ever in television. Suspense, emotion, mystery.)

DEXTER:
Season 4 Finale
(After that amazing last kill of the season, and that shucking and powerful final scene, this was a top game episode.)

BREAKING BAD:
Season 4 Finale
(After an amazing season, the suspense, the brilliant acting, writing and directing was just at BEST of in that episode.What an epic way for Gus to go.)

GAME OF THRONES:
Season 1 Finale
(You watched the episode? If you did, then I need not explaining.)

SCRUBS:
Season 8 Finale
(After an 8 year ride with this characters, to see the future, in this one brilliant scene, is just enough to get me tear-eyed. The Book of Love.)

ANGEL:
Season 5 Finale
(I was was ultimately entertained by that episode, but pissed of it. Great way to end a season...IF YOU HAVE MORE SEASONS TO COME!)


I'm sure that there is a lot more, but for now this are the ones I can think of.

the last two episodes of breaking bad's season 3 presented the best finale i've ever seen, imo.

half measures and full measure were absolute triumphs.

yeah the very ending of lost's season 3 finale is the greatest holy **** moment i've experienced watching a show.

Buffy and Lost had spectacular finales, and I've enjoyed most of Dexter's.

Also think Alias and Veronica Mars had some great ones. And Bones season 3 - The Pain in the Heart.

My favourite would be Roswell season 1 as it aired in the UK. They decided they wanted to end on a cliffhanger so it finished with The White Room (where Max is captured by the government and tortured for information before being nearly dissected).

Lost Season 3 finale was definitely epic. True "WTF?!??" moment.

I'll also throw in 2 Smallville season finales. Season 4 - Clark gets transported to the Arctic and the episode ends with him throwing the crystal into the snow. I was going to kick the TV when the credits came up ........ I want to see the Fortress appearing ffs!!

And season 9 was pretty good. Zod/Clark fight on the rooftop in pouring rain, before Clark stabs himself with the dagger (thus sending Zod to the phantom zone) and falls off the rooftop to his seemingly impending death.

Jericho Season one - Wait for it, wait for it........ NOW! (Fade to black with gunfire).

Stargate SG-1 S7 - Lost City parts 1 & 2. probably just a me thing, but the grand scale of things that TPTB had the season finish on (with the converted movie script Two-parter) was great for this fan of the show.

NCIS Season Two - Main team member dead with a extra hole in her head... completely unexpected (or would have been had i not been told of the fact in advance)

Sherlock Season one - Holmes, Watson, Moriarty, two bomb vests and a handgun.

The Gift from Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5. and The Getaway from Dexter Season 4.

I really need to watch Lost I've heard so many good things about it and I love Once Upon a Time so maybe I will get around to it one of these days.
