I started tap about a month ago, for a 'something to do' summer venture. Now, classes are almost over, and don't pick up again until November, at which point I can move ahead to the next level up.
Anyhow, when I started the class, I had bought a standard pair of Capezio's, hard-toe, size nine 1/2. Good shoes, I guess. But, then I went online, and started looking around at the different kinds of shoes, and there are a lot. Thing is, Capezio's, while very good shoes, are kind of 'clunky' feeling.

So, anyone who takes tap, what would you suggest?

Capezio CGO9's are the best.......they are very comfortable and make a great sound......

And one screw, which is much easier to handle....

Cool. I'll check those out. Anybody else got any suggestions?

I'm in a band, see, and I do tap and guitar. Check us out at:

I haven't updated the pictures yet, so I don't have any pictures up of the keyboarder or the guitarist, but if you want to go through my friends, you can find them pretty easily.

I liked taking tap. That was alot of fun. I have no grace whatsoever though :)

I have to say though, that Capezio's jazz boots were the most comfortable shoes I ever wore in my life.

Even when I'm not in class, I'm still practicing at the house on a rather sturdy piece of wood I found by the dumpster. I think it used to be a table.

Jesus. Let's have SHH: The Musical.

Not as good as my broadway musical version of "Harry Potter"

It's nothing without the music, I assure you.

Thanks.

I gotta ask, though. Why tap, out of everything you could have picked...

I can, too! I also do a mean Riverdance!

Seriously, though, it wasn't a hostile question.

Well, 'cause I loved Happy Feet, and the work of Savion Glover and Gregory Hines (go watch "White Knights" and "Tap" and you'll see what I mean), plus all the other old timers like Jimmy Slyde, just amazes me.

It's fun!

i did tap for 15 years and i always used Capezio shoes, not sure which though.

Bottom of my feet are so dry and hard, i dont think i would require tap shoes :(
