This show has already succeeded in inheriting its own identity. I feel like whereas BB as like rock and roll, this is like jazz. It's more intrinsic where the writing and plotting is actually very, very subtle. It's not like, "Walt seeks his former partners to fund his cancer treatments which will lead to x then y." It was faster paced too. But this is a slower burn, pure character piece that seems like in the end it will be worth it. Next episode seems to become more intense which is great. And the reason I'm excited is because it's earned. The second episode could have been the 'Intense Mike Episode" if they didn't know what they were doing.
The huge benefit to this show is if the writers looks at themselves and BB objectively instead of, "We made one of the greatest shows of all time, there's no way we made mistakes" and actually see what they could improve upon in their own writing and anything they learned and could have done differently in BB, this show has potential to be really special. You can already see more potential in this show this season than you could have when you watched BB's first season.
