Second movie wasn't exactly good, but Isabelle Fuhrman was still great in the role so definitely welcoming more of Esther. My only hope is that this ends up being a sequel rather than a prequel, maybe either have Esther somehow survive the kick in the head or use the alternate ending of the first one as canon. I would also not be opposed to them bringing back Vera Farmiga and exploring the trauma and fallout of her family because of Esther's actions.

For starters, Isabelle Fuhrman confirmed that the script for Orphan 3 has already been written, and that the twists are even “wilder and crazier” in this entry (no small feat, given the jaw-droppers in the previous two films). She also noted that while there was some trepidation in doing a second entry after the well-received first film told such a contained story, fan response to that sequel inspired the creative team to carry on with another installment.

The biggest bit of news concerning this upcoming threequel came when I asked Fuhrman if the new film would be another prequel like First Kill…or, perhaps, a sequel to the original – which would be a surprise, given her character’s state by the end of that film’s conclusion. Nevertheless, she delighted this fan by responding “Both.”

Because she's aged since that one, too and was showing her age a bit in the last one.

Yeah, it was obvious. But that was part of First Kills charm. They were originally going to recast, and thank god they didn't.
