Patrick Fabian, Rhea Seehorn & Michael Mando Cast In ‘Breaking Bad’ Prequel Series ‘Better Call Saul’
By NELLIE ANDREEVA
EXCLUSIVE: Patrick Fabian (The Last Exorcism), Rhea Seehorn (Franklin & Bash) and Michael Mando (Orphan Black) have joined the cast of AMC’s upcoming series Better Call Saul, joining Breaking Bad alums Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks and fellow new cast member Michael McKean. The prequel to the Emmy-winning Breaking Bad, from Sony TV, centers on Odenkirk‘s unflappable criminal lawyer Saul Goodman before he became Walter White’s lawyer. Banks reprises his role as Saul’s trusted private investigator/fixer Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut. Details on the new Better Call Saul characters are sketchy and the network and studios are not commenting, but I hear Fabian, repped by The Kohner Agency and Don Spradlin, will play Burt, a Kennedy-type lawyer; Seehorn will play an attorney named Beth; and Mando will play Spanish-speaking career criminal Eddie.
Director Michelle MacLaren Inks HBO Deal
By NELLIE ANDREEVA
EXCLUSIVE: Breaking Bad executive producer/director Michelle MacLaren has signed a two-year first-look deal with HBO. The pay cable network has had its eye on MacLaren for a while — she has become one of the go-to directors for HBO’s flagship drama Game Of Thrones, directing four episodes over the past two seasons. She is now directing an episode of HBO’s new drama series, The Leftovers.
MacLaren shared in the best drama Emmy AMC’s Vince Gilligan-created Breaking Bad won last year, and has earned two directing Emmy nominations. She also is involved in the Breaking Bad prequel series, Better Call Saul. MacLaren, repped by ICM Partners and attorney Mitch Smelkinson, first worked with Gilligan on Harsh Realm and The X-Files, on both of which she served as a co-executive producer, making her directorial debut on X-Files.
Eh. I don't really see a whole lot of story there considering how things ended for Saul on BrBa.
No, I'm talking about the fact that Walt clearly slipped the extractor some money to kill Saul before he left.

Oh hai Sawyer.

I still say this would work better as a post-BrBa instead of a prequel.
The show will take place before, during, and after Breaking Bad.
